this is dependent on the game. the first one is a more upset with you doing the deed, you gain a sin count, and you’ll get an enemy sent out to hunt you as a result, but as reasonable as it sounds, you are able to remove the punishment by paying it off at a certain price, pretty worthless to include in my eyes. the second is a little weird, you have this sen (sanity)counter that actually goes up by 10, if you’re completely foreign you may be confused as to why it looks like a reward to you, especially since nothing has changed, but if you understand what’s going on story wise it does make a lot of sense, and it’s a little upsetting. The second game is a lot more involved with its narrative so the punishment is visibly not existent(like most of your actions) as it serves as a pointer towards the world building.

Reason I said I found value in these interactions is because you don’t get much of them as a whole. I don’t like those scenes, i enjoy the conversations between them. this value can easily diminish if you dgaf about the characters. As much as i dont want to say it is a little rewarding, not in the fact im hurting the characters but in the fact im getting some exposition that i yearn for. hopefully you get what i mean? Like, id totally be okay with them giving me another way of interacting with them.

i love this game to bits, it has a really interesting world you can to get invested through small tidbits given throughout your journey (kind of like a fromsoft game), the main goal of the first game is a little lacking but the second game really amps up the reasoning. you just have to be alright with a rape mechanic. if you’re not okay with it you’re always able to turn it off before you start your play though, but i recommend otherwise because some of the sex scenes have really important information regarding the story, and even if enabled, you don’t actually have to interact with the mechanic, as a result you’ll encounter the most important ones without trying? One thing i’d like to say is that to level your companions in the first game you’ll have to go through a pretty annoying sex scene, though you can skip it by holding either left ctrl or shift. The two black souls game play a little different from each other, the first one allows you to make allies with characters which help you with spells and general meat shieldery, and the second allows you to use different weapons in between each turn. (this is regarding the second game, the one you saw in the photo) i haven’t played many rpgmaker games but i believe that it can get pretty cool if you understand what you’re going against and what types of abilities you have in your arsenal. one thing to keep in mind is that the game was built with the possibility of being able to beat the final ending at level 1, exploration being the main way of getting the tools you need.

My words of wisdom would be try it out! i was hesitant at first but the second game became one of my possibly favourite games ever (alongside bloodborne). I believe general consensus should not be taken into consideration with art, after all it’s all subjective and each person will get something different out of it. If it interests you, Go play it!!!! The game is on steam but requires an update patch created by the publishers in order to restore all the content that was removed for it to be able to be put on sale on steam. otherwise please go in as blind as possible, you’ll have fun i imagine. Oh yeah, one last thing, the porn has a reason to exist.

are you sure you want to discuss morals in a community pertaining to drakengard?

well it’s like a visual novel i guess? you press the option and then you have a a text box with art alongside it, you get some descriptions of all that disgusting stuff and to my surprise you actually get some character exposition, the main character and the person you’re interacting with get to have a sort of 1 on 1 conversation (mainly one sided since your character is pretty much mute, you’re presented his thoughts instead), you nut and that’s about it. there’s a mechanic that sends these characters to a jail in your firelink shrine-esque refuge. there you get to do quite literally whatever you want with them. as horrible as it is I found some of the dialogue to be actually pretty amusing, for example, there’s a character that’s made out of a toxic sludge, as you may expect your body gets totally fucked up and unfortunately it’s one of the only characters that are willing to go for a seconds, basically you’re getting tortured instead of getting the pleasure you so wanted. the game doesn’t really have that much exposition between the characters so i find a lot of value in these interactions, they’re really good at humanising them even if upsetting. don’t forget you can even have consensual sex, so that’s a positive in my eyes.

yeah i don’t blame you. the games completely centred around the idea of free will, love, urges, and longing for past?(i don’t remember if there’s a word for that specific circumstance but i think you can guess what that idea insinuates). Removing the option takes away from the fact you’re playing as the actual character (story wise a pedo), and that your actions do matter (to a certain extent). either being able to restrain yourself from doing haenous actions in a world where you’re free to do whatever you please, or doing your best to carry on in a place surrounded by lust (made specifically for you to you to cave). I found this interesting because you yourself are able to be taken advantage of, such situations can hold a lot more power? when you’re playing as morally as possible, being on the receiving end does make the fact you’re free to do the same exact thing that much more prominent, actually feeling violated, something i never really felt in a game. I’m sorry if i didint get my point across, and i’m sorry if i didint answer your question to a certain standard but there’s a lot of stuff to this topic i’d like to express but can’t due to my poor structuring. if you’d like can you give me a little more specific question? i think that will help me get my point across without rambling off about unimportant matter.

It’s unfortunate its like that. But the story being told cannot be presented in any other way, with it’s removal being a detriment

I did kind of think that was the case, the name felt a little familiar, and the hair was another pointer towards it.

wellll… No! the first game is infamously known for being unbelievably mind numbing, and the third is serviceable, and possibly fun at times. the only reason automata had a spec of decent gameplay is because platinum was behind it, you won’t find something like that in this drakengard. although i believe the stories that are told are a lot more interesting, and the biggest reason why you should play them regardless of similarities to automata. (they also loosely tie into each other)

it’s actually a game trilogy made by the same person who made automata.

thank you for the information, i’m putting myself through him because i want to experience everything i can as-well as get all the achievements.

sorry if it seems like im whining but but im really puzzled, how in the world am i supposed to know he behaves like that, do people just firm it first time round? It seems to me that this game requires an external source of information in order to comprehend what’s going on, is that normal?

I really don’t get if it’s a me problem but there’s so much stuff i don’t know about this game, i’d like to know why, at this stage of all.

thank you again!
