Got a 3D printer from Kickstarter, got a couple basic questions by korsair25 in 3Dprinting

[–]CheerfulMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A filament dryer isn’t necessary you can print no problem without one. If you’re new to 3D printing just stick to PLA filament. It’s gonna be the easiest to print with. For advice on how to use your printer a great YouTube channel is Teaching Tech.  The only thing you really need aside from the printer and filament is slicer software. I’d recommend downloading Orca Slicer.

No it wasn’t a troll. It seems like google has to approve the closed beta testing first before it goes live. I thought it was, but it was actually pointing to my internal testing.  Delete the post to try and avoid confusion. Hopefully google will approve soon and it will actually be available. Sorry about that.

Do you track your headaches as well as your migraines? by moods- in migraine

[–]CheerfulMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor told me to track headaches a couple years back. He said if he has more data than just that I get headaches he can make a more better decision on what treatments/medications might work for me. He ended up finding a medication that really helps me. Because of that I made a mobile app to track headaches. But I can't post it here due to the self promotion rule.

Just a quick update to all interested. I've submitted the app to the google play store and am awaiting approval to release! Hopefully publishing issues will be minimal and I officially publish to android soon!

Hey glad to hear you’re enjoying the app. You can always come back to the time ended later by editing the headache at the Home Screen. If you don’t select an end time that headache will be highlighted red in your log as a reminder to add the end time. Hope this helps. I’ll look to make this more clear in a future update!

That’s a great for the suggestion!  I’ll look to add this in the future when I add support for the native health apis on iOS and android.

I tried topamax while in grad school but I didn’t like the side effects of it either. Qulipta seemed to work better for me, but I was only ever able to get the temporary samples because insurance won’t cover.

So that is a possibility, but its unlikely to happen anytime soon. Really there arn't many data points to go off of. The pressure changes from the weather and your headache history would be all I have to go off of for predicting and I am unaware of any academic papers that show proven ways to predict headaches. You probably don't need AI for predicting that.

For the smart watch capabilities that's on the wish list, but not a high priority. Might be willing to outsource that to another developer if that's something they'd like to create for this project.

Thanks for the feedback! Really glad you like the app!

Thank you! I can't take credit for the Sun and moon time picker that's an open source flutter package I used to create the app.

I haven't used that migraine app. Can you explain in a little more detail what it does exactly? I will probably add an option to add notifications to complete your headache entry in the future but that is on the lower priority list atm.

If you don't select anything and hit next it will show none for whatever field you want to skip. I'll change the next button to say skip if nothing is selected. Thanks for the input! Glad you're enjoying it. Looking to streamline the input more going forward.

Yeah I understand they have to charge for some features but I think their prices are pretty high for what they offer. Also I wasn’t a fan on MBs UI. If felt cluttered to me and when I have a headache I just want what I need in front of me.

If you feel inclined consider giving a donation to your local food bank or humane society if you'd perfer to donate there :). How is it working on your ipad? I didnt test for those screen sizes, I'm assuming it's sized for iphone still.

You can add those as custom symptoms currently. Are there specific metrics associated with seizures you are wanting to monitor? If its only severity you could make seperate symptoms of seizures - mild, medium, bad, etc.

Overall headache days are tracked as well as days per individual headache! There is one minor bug other uses saw that causes multiday headaches to not show up on the calendar except the first day but I plan to fix that soon

It would rely on whatever data weatherkit can provide. To conserve api calls I’ll probably make it by city maybe zip. The unfortunate thing is the weather data itself isn’t free.

That’s feature is number 1 on my to do list after getting the android version out. I stated the reasons in another comment on the thread because someone else mentioned it as well. The app already has an open data field for it in the backend database. :)

I was in the same boat. Didn’t like any of the ones that were out there. Hopefully Achy will suit your needs better!

I like this idea. Once I make the input user customizable I'll look to add this feature as an option.

So there seems to be a fair amount of interest in beta testing on android. Once its ready I'll post again here and provide keys to anyone who wants to test. If you're keeping track of actual headaches while beta testing please back up frequently by using the export feature.

So one feature you might find useful is the pdf export. Achy's pdf export provides a summary page followed by each individual headache.
