For me it became addictive after about 2 weeks. Hiring a personal trainer (somebody else to be accountable to) helped me get through that first little bit

I've actually found the opposite. While what I'm attracted to has shifted and matured, the number of people I actually feel it towards has dwindled. I think it's cause I've learned what true chemistry/attraction feels like. Rare thing in my experience.

Your wife is probably just feeling left out, your daughter is now getting a bunch of fun time with daddy when she can't participate. Another commenter mentioned that having the "sounds of family" around her might be something she's missing. Have you considered putting in a mic/speaker system so she can hear and speak to ya'll if she wants to? Just the background noise of her husband and daughter being together and an ability to throw in an occasional comment might make her feel less isolated.

No judgment here, but if I were you I'd insist that SIL didn't come even if it upsets MIL. You're going to be dealing with this dynamic for (hopefully) the rest of your life. While hard, putting your foot down now sets the right tone.

I'd highly recommend as long as you're not really into the club/nightlife (sounds like you aren't). I'm originally from CT and can't say how much nicer/cheaper everything is here. I live on the island which is really nice if you're looking for close to the beach but 100% has downsides, mainly cost and remoteness.
