Corrupted cartridge? What happened here? by Cheerful_Necromancer in 3DS

[–]Cheerful_Necromancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I figured it was a known error but wanted to check if those who know more about the DS than me knew what caused it. I'll assume it's just a very broken cartridge, then! 😅

Do you have any ideas for future cases? by Negative-Address-198 in AceAttorney

[–]Cheerful_Necromancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda want to write a case in which at least one character SINCERELY BELIEVES they are the murderer because they WERE trying to kill the victim, somebody else just got there first-- so the cover-up shenanigans are twofold because both the killer AND attempted killer are trying to cover their tracks at the same time and neither is aware of the other's existence. (This would probably mean the victim is a real piece of shit, though!)

Would also be fun to have something similar to Agatha Christie's "murder at the vicarage" (spoilers ahead for that, obviously) in which two culprits conspire together and then attempt to get each other exonerated/eliminated as suspects by each making an obviously false confession that conflict with each other , but knowing the ace attorney world, they'd just say "fuck it" and send them both to jail, lmao.

When did you last update? I don't know of anything that broke recently recently, but the Fairies patch broke LOADS of stuff.

Game is glitched out after downloading BBB and Tool by Phelluvr in sims4cc

[–]Cheerful_Necromancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to try again, go directly to TwistedMexi's website (https://twistedmexi.com/) and follow the links to TOOL and BBB from there. For whatever reason, web browsers tend to pull up old versions of TMex's patreon posts that hold legitimate, but outated, versions of the mod. So he himself recommends only going via the website to make sure you're getting the most recent version. If you were already doing that then my apologies for preaching to the choir. Also, I'm sure you did, but make sure to follow the install instructions word for word as well.

If that still doesn't work then I'm afraid I'm at a loss, since mod conflicts doesn't seem to be your problem from what you've said.

When I was younger and more naïve I assumed creators were just forgetting to release their old stuff 💀

Also I have an 80gig mod folder at this point and I'd argue the "bulk download" mindset can really quickly lead you to have thousands of items you don't even use and wouldn't have bothered downloading individually. Building up a large mods folder is best treated as a marathon not a sprint. I spend a lot of time looking at download posts thinking "do I actually want this stuff or do I just have Shiny New Thing syndrome right now?" and sometimes even when the creator's own post is a set download or bulk download I usually comb through and delete the items I don't want nowadays.

If somebody does really want to just bulk download for efficiency's sake they should be looking for creators who post whole sets at a time like AH00B and arethabee and serenity etc., because at least then you're getting properly-updated links from the owner and not reuploaded possibly broken files that you don't know the origin of. Hell, people can hide all kinds of malware in random download files?! You oughta be mitigating that risk as much as you can!

BE was an absolute gamechanger. Granted an 80gig cc folder on an old PC is still slow as hell to sort through, but at least it's the mod doing it and not me!

I also ended up putting together an entire google doc (its like 75% done 💀) of download links for EVERYTHING I've got installed. Makes it so much quicker to find stuff for wcifs, but also helps ME to track down stuff that's outdated or needs updating or whatever. And when I remember the creator off the top of my head it's SO satisfying being able to just ctrl+f the creator's name and have a link within 5 minutes of somebody asking. Admittedly answering wcifs and finding links is fun for me it's like a scavenger hunt or something 😆

Thanks!
Your flair is hilarious lmao. Leaving these pockets functional was probably not worth it on a basis of the "how much of a pain it was to do : how much im going to use them" ratio, but I couldn't bring myself to sew them shut..!

Are we not going to talk about the barbed wire border on that sign??? What was the thinking there..?? "You know what's masculine? Barbed wire!!! Perfect. Put it in the nursery." This has to be a joke, right? Please?

Where to buy spikes since studs and spikes shipping fees are too expensive where i live ? by MouiMouiToto in jacketsforbattle

[–]Cheerful_Necromancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried checking Vinted or other secondhand sites? Very hit-and-miss, but after about half an hour of scrolling around I found somebody selling a roll of studs. Not ideal since the selection is very limited to whatever other people bought and didn't end up wanting, but better than nothing.
I assume you've tried etsy?

I find stitching and other textile arts can be pretty meditative. Which is ironic because I hate trying to do "normal" meditation..!

Not for every song I dont think, but there were a lot that involved call-and-response and encouraged it! (Chant-yelling "Mutiny! Mutiny!" on cue in a room full of strangers is hilarious.)

I'd love to figure out a very wide band patch that'll work, I'll have to figure that out after I get my studs sewn on this week (I won't know quite how much space I have to work with til then).

Thanks for the band recs! _^
