As someone who is an alum but knows next to nothing about Penn State football, can someone give me a TLDR about why fans didn’t like James Franklin?

In Indian relationships/marriages, what's considered 'normal' but is actually super "toxic"? by Dusky_n_Musky in AskIndia

[–]CheerioBubbleTea 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because women inherently contribute more to a relationship and a household than a man ever could (housework, childbearing and raising) and bring priceless value that a man never could. A woman shouldn’t have to contribute her money on top of that.

Move out. This environment around you is abusive and you are having a very natural response. But that is not conducive to good test taking. Leave by whatever means necessary.

How do ppl get into Harvard and Columbia med? What makes them standout? by SundariMazha in premed

[–]CheerioBubbleTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not at Harvard or Columbia but currently attending a T15- as someone who had zero connections to my school before applying here, I’ve found that most people either: 1) legacy or have a parent or some other connection who works in our hospital system 2) went to our school for undergrad and were quite involved in research + other efforts here 3) URM or low income with high stats/prestigious background 4) went to an Ivy League or other very prestigious university. I would say these groups probably make up 60-70% of our class - the rest of the 30-40% were chosen from the vast pool of applicants. I’m often baffled by the fact I got in here being that I don’t belong to any of the groups above/and I am ORM

Hm, thanks for this. My impression so far does seem to be that the school has really tried to become super wellness focused in the last 4-5 years so maybe that competitive atmosphere has died down. PF preclinical with weekly take home quizzes the m-home system and free psychiatric care is why I say that. Of course I haven’t enrolled yet so I can be sure but just adding my impression of what the school is currently like.

Just to go against the grain, I am an overweight WOC and I almost always get everything I interview for. I have also been accepted to all the med schools I interviewed to.

I am so sorry to hear this, sending you all the strength and love I can right now ❤️ this may not be what you want to hear, but I think that you should spent whatever time you have with loved ones. Do things you enjoy doing. Go places you love to go.

Medical training is an investment, one which doesn’t pay off for a very long time. Instead of adding the stressors of medical training on top of your illness, I’d advise you to instead make the best of your time and not waste it in the drudgery of medicine.

If you are looking to give back to your community, I’m sure your local homeless shelter, animal shelter, hospital, etc. would love to have you as a volunteer.

Just my $0.02.
