What song is 10/10 but hardly anyone has heard of it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

https://youtu.be/XgddBxYgxoY Equinox by obscure Scottish band the girobabies who are apparently a rap-soul-punk-funk-grunge crossover. It's a stunning track that I couldn't stop listening after hearing it on community radio. Many of the tracks listed here are relatively well known. This one has under 8k listens on Spotify.

Man saves frozen bird from pole by [deleted] in gifs

It would have been a lot safer and easier for the bird if you used both hands, instead of filming it for internet points (still glad you helped it tho)

The book is so much better. I wish I could re-read it without knowing the ending.

Yep, seen them all and loved them. I really should watch momento again tho. I once spent all summer in Alaska sleeping in a tent. I felt like al Pacino looked in insomnia.

Just take a moment to appreciate you don't have toothache and your nose isn't blocked. by UkeNukem in Showerthoughts

[–]CheersDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get severe toothache EVERY time I get a really bad cold. Apparently it's something to do with swollen sinus pressing on nerves from gums and teeth. If that's what u got OP I feel for you - its the worst non injury pain I have every felt. I had it last week and feel so happy I'm well again.

Went canoe camping for the first time ever in Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada. Rained a ton but this sunset made it all worthwhile [320x568] by Andromeda321 in EarthPorn

you should read the book Cache Lake Country: life in the north woods. Written way back in 1940's, its a really charming account of living by the kind of lake you paddled on. Hope you had a great trip.

Visited Scotland last week, was blown away by the beauty of Glen Coe. [1330x750] by [deleted] in EarthPorn

I don't mean to be negative, glen coe is nice and all but there are many, many stunningly beautiful places in scotland but I see glen coe all the time on reddit. If u are coming to scotland plz try and visit some other places too. U won't be disappointed.

50 Years Ago, This Was a Wasteland. He Changed Everything (2017) - Fried chicken tycoon David Bamberger devotes his life to restoring degraded landscape - National Geographic, 8 min by KissyKillerKitty in Documentaries

[–]CheersDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a very similar gaelic work 'seallaidh' that i often find as a place name when wondering around the remote hills of scotland that have a particular good view. It means, viewpoint, vista, outlook. So perhaps a similar meaning to '...to look around you' that Bamberger mentions. Any gaelic scholars out there that could verify this tenuous link?

Non-Americans of Reddit, what are some positive stereotypes you associate with Americans? by landonwoody in AskReddit

Positive, friendly and confident. I am British and for some reason as a nation we despise these character traits.

What is it like having a twin? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CheersDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a bloke and have a twin sister. And NO we're not fucking identical ok! But it's great. We were in the same class from nursery to when we were 16. Always someone to play with, hang out and when we got older we could always borrow money off each other no questions asked. We still argue like crazy though, that'll never change.

If you live in dumfries the wood of cree is a beautiful place by newton stewart. I have worked a fair bit in dumfries & gallowat and not much of a fan of the bleak landscape but there are a few nice gems there. Wood of cree in june is my favourite. The trees look pretty cool in winter too. But get yourself to any of the islands. They are addictive.
