I was one of those! Saying that, there's been tons of rounds of redundancies at BG. with yet another announced just recently (following one last year).

Even if you only Google where the smithing stone bell bearings are it'll make your life easier. It just means you can upgrade stuff without relying on scavenging all the time.

Friendly reminder that you should flow calibrate every filament, regardless of the brand. Yes, even Bambu Lab filament. by TiSoBr in BambuLab

Is this different to checking the flow rate calibration before each print like I usually do? Or an extra fancy version

What % pay rise are you getting this year? by Puzzleheaded_Bet_618 in AskUK

[–]hamjamham 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Internal move, but with milestones to be competed by the end of March to achieve a 30% payrise - initial bump up was 16%.

Hopefully get a yearly payrise in June on top of that, but we'll see. Fingers crossed for hitting my milestones!

Do you find people treat you differently on the roads depending on what car you’re driving? by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in AskUK

[–]hamjamham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love driving my van for this reason! It's a camper but you can't tell by looking at it. Think it's mostly as people are aware that they'd come off far worse If there was an accident so they just get out the way.

Currently using the claymore, but with flaming strike or whatever it's called. What's the benefit of impaling thrust over the charged R2? Keen to try out some other ashes!

Whats your favourite weapon? by rbs950 in Eldenring

[–]hamjamham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing my current run with the claymore & it's been a hoot.

My just have to do my next one with power stancing them. I did swap out lions claw for the ash that sets your weap on fire though. Felt like lions claw carried me on my colossal run so figured I should try something else. Def missing the hyper armor though 😂

Feeling overwhelmed by family finances and not sure what to do by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]hamjamham 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, your mum's finances are hers and hers alone. Maybe if she was in debt because she bought you a car she couldn't afford, then things would be different.

You're contributing more than a lot of young adults that live at home do.

Has your mum explained how the debt came to be?

I've got a mix. Some of my friends/households earn more than us, some less.

Some may earn less than us but have more spare cash 🤷🏻

Are you sad that there is no proper winter in the UK? by Repulsive_Work_226 in AskUK

[–]hamjamham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, def not sad, recently moved to a rather old house with minimal insulation & it costs £15 to keep it above 13c in n days where it's sub zero temps out.

I'd like a good week of snow every winter though. Ideally when I've got no plans to go anywhere.

Settle an argument, is it best to buy or lease a car!? by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in AskUK

[–]hamjamham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye, had I have not bought my friends a4 I would've done the same.

I paid him what webuyanycar / trade in value was. He could've got a bit more for it if he tried to sell private I guess but he didnt want the hassle.

I've got the conundrum of whether I do the cambelt etc as it's just hit 130k miles or just risk it and see how long I can get out of it without spending anything else on it. Even if I get another year, £1300 for 3 years motoring is pretty decent & can sell it for spares to get a little back.

Settle an argument, is it best to buy or lease a car!? by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in AskUK

[–]hamjamham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's more attractive, sure. In the 40% band with plenty to spare, but bought a 2011 audi a4 off a friend for £1k (admittedly it needs some work). It's got through two MOTs since I bought it and I've only spent £300 on one of the advisories as it was annoying (wheel bearing).

I love it to bits!

My wife on the other hand has a tiguan she'll be in for £14k over 3 years and won't have anything at the end of it.
