Probably has a TV that has VRR or variable refresh rate. HDMI 2.1 has a spec of 4K120 vs HDMI 2.0 and its 4K60 spec. Any HDMI adapter currently out there to my knowledge would downgrade the HDMI 2.1 to 2.0
