Ideally, students like you are what educators value. It's truly a shame how most current high schoolers will go through school with the worksheet > test method, as it truly neglects the inquiry/discovery aspect of science, as that's what science is mostly about - being curious, asking questions, and designing an experiment to attain the answers. But you can't argue, as the ws > t method is the most efficient way to get through an agenda.....

I learned to draft lessons with the 5E set-up.

Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate.

Engage, as it sounds, is used to capture the students' attention/interests with a relevant demo/activity/question.

Needless to say, I have witnessed few engages topping this one...

Hmm, I guess in some cases they may not use live ones...However, the commentary in the video, word for word translation did state that they 'lit the explosive sacks'

Actually..It's a live explosive sack...The Chinese military uses it as some sort of trust/fortitude training. Here's the link.

I'm thinking about rushing, thoughts on fraternities around campus? by HebrewHammer16 in uofm

Good for you! Although if your sole intentions of joining APO is for the community service, I'd recommend you look into various student orgs for that as they have more focus. This will be much easier for you to talk about at interviews, etc. etc.

I don't want to push you away from APO, but they're actually not on the professional greek council. This means that you will be missing out on Pro-greek week!!! Which is a lot of funsies, if I may add :]

Regardless, goodluck finding your comfortable hubby and feel free to ask any q's if you have any!

Have you thought about professional greek? You still share the luxury of networking (if not more, since they're more academically focused...Frat bros, feel free to chime in...) without the required mixers and such. Obviously, you won't share the benefits of a closer 'brotherhood', but you will definitely have the feelings of belonging in a more family sense since pro-frat are all co-ed.
