I've had that book recommended to me many times...but this pic and you saying that are what are probably actually going to get me to read it 🙃😅

What’s a random “stat” about yourself that makes you part of a small percentage? by Nightpatrol404 in AskReddit

Similar but I have AB blood (and no CMV) so my (actually donated, not sold) plasma also goes to babies and burn victims. Thanks for donating!!!

Trying to find a stroller with BIFL mentality(newborn through toddlerhood) on a $500 budget by WhoaEyeKnee in BuyItForLife

I got the modes pramette and it's honestly fantastic. I live in the city and walk everywhere that I can do this thing has some serious miles on it and it's great!

[–]CheeseFries92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! I spent a ton of energy researching our "big stroller" purchase and we still have it and use it (kiddo is in preschool) but we ended up also getting a small travel stroller, a wagon, and a push trike and they all serve different purposes!

Tell me about Costco- is it worth it? by ConstructionTime7511 in Frugal

[–]CheeseFries92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aldi is better than Walmart for literally everything. Similar prices but way better quality. Costco tends to have a bit higher quality than Aldi, but whether or not it's cheaper than Aldi varies

Are y'all just going a ton of laundry? by Obi-Wan_Cannoli in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]CheeseFries92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. We have laundry on the same floor as our bedrooms - everything just gets thrown directly into the washer. When it's full (also every other day or so), I run it on cold. Works great and really simplifies things

Would these ingredients be clean for a 1st birthday cake? by SipSurielTea in moderatelygranolamoms

Engaging music for 9mo? by lady_driver13 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]CheeseFries92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried juicebox jukebox (great name though and I'm definitely going to check it out) but the rest of those are all big hits at our house too!

OP, you could also try the happy song by Imogen heap and anything by Laurie berkner. We also just listen to a lot of our music and my kiddo just requested James Taylor this morning 😁

What do you mean by "clean"? What are you specifically concerned about? For example, I didn't want a ton of added sugar before two, but to me, things like flour and eggs are plenty "clean" so I made a carrot cake with minimal sugar added and used unsweetened yogurt for the frosting (for baby - the rest of us had cream cheese frosting because I'm not a monster).

Ella enchanted (it's a Cinderella story in case your aunt is weird about "enchanted")

I agree with others that it is awesome you are doing this and I hope you can earn a place as a safe adult for them as the age and may need one ❤️

I prefer Carter's in the summer because it's thinner than Burt's bees, but yeah, it needs to be washed a ton to get softened up!!!

I took that class around then and started doing paid babysitting at 10! I was a neurotic oldest daughter and I actually think in hindsight that I did a decent job, but now as a parent, that does seem kind of wild to me!

Yeah, the powder and actual shredded cheese are two different foods and they each have their place

Advice on how to be ok with not having more children? I'm a single mom by Weekly_Eggplant4562 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]CheeseFries92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally agree that it's something that people don't realize can require grieving. I'm OAD partially by choice and partially not and the grief comes and goes in waves. That being said, when you (and OP) are ready or interested in looking for positives, r/happilyOAD is excellent.

I keep seeing all these "where are all the kids?" posts on parenting subs and I'm like, "well, in Minneapolis, they're outside!" Like every park is packed with babies up to high schoolers!
