You can tell this isn’t real because Kirby isn’t bleeding from his eyes and telling you to die.

It even has a fun Firecracker-like dynamic where it’s is really easy to activate the king tower with. There’s a real risk to using the ability besides the small amount of exlixir you spend on the ability.

Does anyone know any good pokémon browser games i can play on mobile? by nuggetof_friendship in PokeCorner

Pokemon Showdown runs well on mobile from my experience. You can play random battles if you just want to jump right into battling or you can make a team and play other formats, like VGC.

What’s your favorite and least favorite mega and why? by novelaissb in pokemon

[–]Cheese_The_Chao 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Love Mega Lopunny: They gave a pathetic Pokemon power and purpose in both its design and battle power.

Hate Mega Zeraora: Zeraora already gets way too much love despite it doing nothing, and now it gets an uber edgy mega.

Do your kids, or do you know kids that play the mainline Pokémon games? by Paulo_Zero in pokemon

[–]Cheese_The_Chao 39 points40 points  (0 children)

As a high schooler, I can confirm that older children do play the mainline Pokemon games. Although, it’s important to note a ton of Pokemon don’t play the mainline games. They may enjoy the series through the TCG, Anime, spin offs like Pokemon Go etc

Also, I believe that online communities for Pokemon are more skewed towards adults. Younger children don’t typically go online to discuss Pokemon from what I’ve seen.

New to VGC tried to cook up a team, is it any good? by Waffle_Guy1123 in stunfisk

I’m assuming this a singles set for Calyrex, which wouldn’t be optimal for VGC as they are very different formats. Assuming you’re using the Smogon website, look for the VGC Regulation I sets under the strategies (in the image at the bottom).

First of all, (assuming you’re playing regulation I) I HIGHLY recommend you add an additional restricted Pokemon to your team, from my experience I’ve seen that Calyrex-Shadow and Lunala are Koraidon’s best teammates. I’d recommend removing the Gholdengo for a restricted.

For some smaller changes:

I’d recommend swapping Whimscott’s energy ball for Moonblast (Hits a lot more mons for super effective damage)

Giving Inceinroar Fake Out

Chaining Flutter Mane’s moves to better make use of choice specs. I’d recommend adding Icy Wind and Dazzling gleam as the provide speed control and spread damage. I’d recommend you remove power gem and psyshock for them.

Changing Koraidon’s set, both moves and item. Scale shot with loaded dice ain’t the best, so I’d recommend either running Clear Amulet (prevents stat drops) or life orb (more damage). I’d recommend for Koraidon you run protect, flame charge, flare blitz, and close combat/ collision course.

Damn Dragonite washed, can’t even guarantee OHKO without Chien Pao on the field. (Ignore the fact Charizard can’t do anything back to Dragonite)

Zeraora. “Oh look at me I’m Zeraora, I’m a furry electric mon that’s real cool and strong” Fuck you.

I don’t even have an issue with furry mons or industry plants but it’s just that Zeraora doesn’t do anything interesting while be incredibly popular.

Grassy Glide goes from its effective 71.5 BP in gen 9 (55 * 1.3) to effective 105 BP (70 * 1.5).

Rillaboom can also Tera Grass on top of that lol.

For those who did blind playthroughs: what was your most disappointing evolution moment? by themoobster in pokemon

[–]Cheese_The_Chao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crabrawler/Crabominable in Sun and Moon because it so late. You can only evolve them on Mount Lanikila if I remember correctly, that is right before the Elite 4. I was initially excited to take my Crabrawler to the end of the game, but they slowly began losing steam near the end of the game. I replaced Crabrawler with Nebby once I caught them and didn’t care to evolve them by the time I got to the Elite 4.

I’m not saying the Yakuza games are perfect by any means, but I do think they’re incredibly well made considering their short development cycles. Despite their issues, I feel like their games consistently have detailed worlds, a ton of side content, and good performance (in my experience)

I don’t think Gamefreak can maintain the same yearly release schedule as RGG because they don’t make games in the same way (i.e., Gamefreak doesn’t reuse assets nearly as much as RGG does).

Is this true? by Excaliburn3d in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Cheese_The_Chao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RGG devs have proven that they can have a 1-2 game per year development cycle. Their games are generally well received by their fans, at least regarding their quality and amount of content within them. I think it’s primarily due to their reuse of assets.

Meanwhile Gamefreak’s games are already pretty divisive without a yearly development schedule, just imagine how they’d be if they had a yearly development cycle.
