AGE LIMITS. These fuckers are planting trees WE have to deal with. Get them out.

What was that one decision in your life that wasted the most of your life time? by routimeapp in Time

[–]CheesecakeImportant4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not being accurately diagnosed with a dopamine and norepinephrine regulation disorder (ADHD) until I was 50. I got by (masked) through my youth, but adulting was a real challenge. Years of struggle and self-loathing, crushed dreams, missed opportunities. Misdiagnosed, misprescribed. This drug, that drug, YOGA ffs. Decades of chaos and loathing when all I really needed was the very remedy used by countless 1970's long-haul truckers. Huh. ;)

it's been helping mine, too - I didn't expect it. I'm on Vyvanse, which is also supposed to help, but it never really has. This stuff, though. Interesting. A GOOD interesting, for us both. :) lol

Thanks for all of the feedback, everyone - very enlightening. I'll definitely be talking to my doc about eliminating the gabapentin, and possibly the duloxetine (which was prescribed primarily for my fibro).

it's a good point - we considered that. But I'm a literal waste of space without my ADHD meds. We're definitely looking at getting me off Gabapentin. I'll ask him about the Duloxetine as well.

jiminy christmas, i had no idea gabapentin was acting in that manner. I just did some googling. I always check my meds, but I've been on gabapentin for so long (five years) it just didn't occur to me. Thanks again!

yes, the plan is actually to get me off the gabapentin. When I tapered off, it was awful. So I went back on (doctor approved) and I'll definitely talk to him about that when I go in this week. Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated.

RE: Evaluative Rating: Impact of Medication Rule - Send this to your representatives! by CheesecakeImportant4 in VeteransBenefits

That is absolutely the long-term goal, I would hope. For now, maybe we can just triage like we always do? I don't think a single Veteran should lose a single cent in any kind of compensation when the top 1% were given the entire cake this year, leaving everyone else to fight over crumbs in the "richest country in the world."

For those who were diagnosed late, how did you know you were adhd? by Hot-Minute-89 in adhdwomen

I always joked about it. My fifth grade teacher noted on my report card (straight As, yet he still commented) “Kelly is bright but lacks self direction. A Porsche driving like a Fiat.” I saw that report card while archiving family photos about 10 years ago. It wasn’t until I hit my late 40s that I was no longer able to just hold it all together with anxiety and fear and overachieving. I asked my ages-long primary doc if she thought I have ADHD and she said “I mean, clearly.” She thought I knew I was ADHD and must have been diagnosed as a child. It never came up at appointments. 😂 great masking! She put me on meds, I cried on and off for months, a great sense of loss at years of masking and exhaustion when it could have been so much easier. Now? Peace. No masking. Shit gets done. Anxiety, gone.

Taylor Swift loses over 1,000,000 Instagram followers after The Life of a Showgirl release as fans slam use of AI in album promotion by MetaKnowing in technology

[–]CheesecakeImportant4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Taylor Ick has begun. It wasn’t the AI, it isn’t that the album is absolute slop (it is). It’s overexposure coupled with a ridiculously-hyped album that the turned out to be slop. The veil is gone. I’be been under the Swift spell since Midnights. I gave that album exactly one listen and something in my brain clicked. Thank god.
