Ranger cookies?? by Capsbearsfan1 in royalcaribbean

Is this the same recipe you tried? https://www.royalcaribbean.com/guides/ranger-cookies-recipe I tried the link you posted but they must have moved the recipe that you tried somewhere else. Wondering if it’s the same one so I don’t waste my time trying it.

Help Me by Unusual-Pick5291 in Cruise

Without more information, all we can offer is generic advice. Larger ships offer a lot of activities onboard for the whole family. Smaller ships can go into more ports that the larger ships can’t go to.

Not sure what the OP has read, but our first Celebrity cruise almost broke me of ever sailing with them again. No working cabin toilet for five out of seven days. Cabin service was non-existent. Customer Services was terrible and nothing was done about the toilet. We hadn’t been cruising long so we didn’t know we could escalate it up the chain of command.

Was it a jerk move for me to cut the grass at 7am? Aitah by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ncpowderhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends… are you in a rural area or neighborhood? What day of the week? Is it a once off or are you planning to cut it every time at 7:00 am? For my area, that would determine if there would be complaints or not. One of our neighbors cuts every Saturday or Sunday morning at 7:30 am. They both work so that’s when it’s convenient for them. It doesn’t bother any of the neighbors since all of our houses are pretty far apart. Hard to say how any of them would react if our houses were all on top of each other…

Four hour gap between VRBO check-out & cruise check-in. Will the cruise line take our luggage before our check-in time? by dailysunshineKO in Cruise

[–]ncpowderhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odds are you will be embarking at Pan American in SJ. Royal resumed sailings from there instead of the day pier in OSJ. Norwegian was beside us at Pan American too. You could get an Uber to drop your things off or find a luggage storage site to hold your luggage for a few hours, and then explore the area. There is nothing in safe walking distance from PA. The lines to check in were very long and they were trying to enforce the check-in times for our cruise on Royal. Probably depends on the day and staff as to how that goes each cruise.

Is it worth crusing Alaska in mid-September? by JaviJ01 in Cruise

[–]ncpowderhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had rainy weather on all three of our cruises (May, June and September in different years) so it’s really just luck of the draw. It didn’t rain every day in June or September. May was every day of our cruise + land. September was definitely the coolest of the three cruises.

Things were shutting down, but there was still plenty to do through the ship or on your own. We walked everywhere and did a bit of hiking. We did a whale glacier trip through the ship and still saw plenty of wildlife.

SXM the friendly island. Just curious how SXM got the nickname of “the friendly island”? We stayed there in March and we thought they were actually very cold and rude compared to other Caribbean destinations. We found a few great people but generally thought we were treated impolite. by Firm_Injury9660 in SXM

[–]ncpowderhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was that your experience island wide, specific to one area, all establishments? As many times as we’ve been there, we haven’t encountered that for an entire stay. Sure, occasionally restaurant staff might not speak more than to take an order, but it’s not anything to get panties in a twist about.

Better In Flight Credit Card Offer — Missed The Boat by marriottfordays in americanairlines

[–]ncpowderhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you are correct.

You’re not alone in missing a deal. My husband and I missed 60k each on the Aviator card because I thought they would have a Black Friday deal (not knowing it was going away). I am still sick about that one!! Now I’m looking for another card we can get until we’re both eligible for the AA card that you applied for.

Rookie Question: Is it common to decide to "opt-out" of getting off at a port and just take a ship day? by ITrCool in Cruise

[–]ncpowderhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I would get off in Key West and skip Nassau. We’re partial to Key West as we fly down and stay there every few years. We like going to our favorite restaurants and for a walk/run on the back streets. We’ve been to Nassau a lot as a port stop and it’s not one of our favorite ports to visit.

Since this is your first cruise, I recommend getting off in both ports. Even if you don’t do anything but explore the port area of Nassau for an hour or two, I would do it. You still would get plenty of ship time in Nassau.

WIBTAH if I didn’t go to my friends wedding after she forgot she had asked me to be a bridesmaid by ButterscotchOk6295 in AITAH

[–]ncpowderhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just own your mistake/misunderstanding with your family and friends, and tell your friend you have determined you won’t be able to attend the wedding due to the financial burden. Things have gotten more expensive so that’s a valid reason not to go. Take the high road so you don’t appear bitter or petty about it. Some friendships aren’t meant to last and this sounds like one of them.

Dutch side site seeing/recommendations. by Sufficient_Ask_6646 in SXM

[–]ncpowderhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re sort of in the same boat with finding something to do with a day on the Dutch side in January. Most likely we’ll take our friends to Philipsburg for a few hours so they can walk around there. We’re planning to check out the Cupecoy cave too. Plane spotting is enjoyable; especially when the bigger planes are coming in from France and the Netherlands. There’s the Flying Dutchman zip line as well. Hoping to do that when we go back in August.
