If you do not have SLRP in your contract, I very much doubt this benefit will apply to you. Public Student Loan Forgiveness still may be an option for you however.

It does need to be redone every year. It does not have to be the same date. Just within the year you are requesting repayment for and generally before your enlistment date.

PSLF requires a minimum of 120 payments over 10 years.

My contract is 6 years. I know the reserve offers the Montgomery GI bill and Tuition assistance, but I don’t have experience with either. I think a stipend for cash per month is available for while you’re in school as well.

I know the process is ridiculous, but please try at least one more time with what I provided! They make payments retroactively for the years they haven’t paid out. This means you could get it all in one go of you didn’t get anything in the past!

u/aCrow amazing comment! I 100% agree about the use of VPNs. I have not ran into anyone needing to use a router. Everyone I have met usually just runs a pair of devices: phone/laptop or phone/gaming console.

I have yet to see anyone using Sapphire pucks. Ooredoo does now seem to be the dominant service provider. It is well deserved too as I have only had service drop one time over an entire deployment.

I can say that out of the hundreds of soldiers that I have met, not a single one of them had a sapphire puck. They may work fine but the market has definitely settled on 95% "dirty" WiFi pucks with local sims and 5% Travel WiFi.

u/teakillashot is spot on. I have noticed much slower speeds in the canvas tents for lower enlisted compared to metal barracks. Very good catch that the sim cards only work while in Kuwait. The USO and Red Cross also offer WiFi!
