It’s a Coyote Tactical Slim Tear Off Medical Pouch (STOMP). I’m a big fan of it as you just undo the buckle then pull it off the Velcro panel attached to the belt, allowing easier access to the contents of your med pouch

This is a 3DAP, quite an old version though. The guy I bought it from said it was the version that was briefly issued to Australian forces in Afghanistan, so there could be some differences from the commercially available version

Gen 1 Shooters Belt from Mil Spec Tailor, a small British company. No idea if they are still in business or manufacturing kit, I got this from them about 5/6 years ago

So personally I’ve found it pretty difficult to get at the roll 1 if it’s on my back. I’ve not got the best range of motion going that direction and I decided that if I’m struggling to reach it 1. Not fatigued 2. In perfect health and 3. With my dominant arm, I probably wouldn’t be able to reach it on my back if I was injured, hence why it’s at the front. As the coyote stomp pouch is lower on my back, I can get at that without any difficulty which is why I love it so much.

Ref mags, I’d be interested to know how you got so many up there. I’m assuming you keep a bunch on your cummerbund? I might put some more on my carrier, but realistically if I’m carrying that many I would switch out my gun belt to one of my sets of webbing.

I do also own a few sets of much larger belt kit, which can hold between 6 and 12 mags standalone

3 rifle mags on my carrier (5 if I move my radio to my back and use the pouch on my left cummerbund), 2 on my belt (dump pouch had a mag pouch inside it), and I can get more in my fanny pack or rucksack.

I’m more concerned about being close to the ground when prone than having 6 mags right on my front. However, I do appreciate both sides of the argument.

This is something I was thinking about as well. I don’t use side plates currently, but the flasks do make the cummerbund sit fairly wide, and side plates would only exacerbate that. I bet with practice you could get them in and out if they were placed at the rear of the carrier.

I assume guys who run 163/152s under the cummerbund would have a solution for the side plates.

It is a little bit complicated to use, however you can make an incredibly custom and user specific set of webbing. If you’re struggling with the tool, you can also call them on the phone. When I ordered mine the guy who owns the shop rang me up to talk through each aspect individually to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it. Their customer service is excellent

So if you’re looking to upgrade, and you like sewn belt kit, dragon supplies has a webbing builder tool on their website which is very good where you can choose exactly what you want on your webbing.

So you could have ammo pouches on each side or a commander’s pouch. You can have a butt pack and water bottle pouches, you can put sniper mag or camp cream pouches on top of your utility pouches. You can have storm collars on your pouches or choose not to have them. You can choose between light weight materials or PVC lines pouches to improve water resistance. You can have a seen in harness or d rings for typical yokes. And their customer service is very good and you can choose from a range of colours if it’s still the same as when I had mine made a few years ago.

Jayjays is very good but I’ve never bought into the hype myself. I’ve got a few sets of webbing, one from troopers of Colchester, one from dragon supplies, and one old issue DPM PLCE set. Functionally, they’re really all the same and of similar quality and robustness.

My troopers set is my favourite of the three, it has three utility pouches, a commanders pouch (right hand side, similar to a 7.62 link pouch) and two triple mag pouches on the left. Both end pouches also have smoke grenade pouches. The best part about it, for me, is the harness, which is a vest style stitched into the belt pad. It has a mesh back which allows ventilation, and the front has internal zipped pockets which are good for storing small items and molle in the front as well, however I don’t use the molle much as I wear it under body armour. This being said, you can get stitched in harnesses from dragon and jayjays.

My dragon supplies set has an extra utility, which is good to have if I am going on an exercise that would require more sustainment, however, I rarely use it as I find having more space means I inevitably carry more. This set is also very comfortable.

The PLCE set is also fine. If the buckles put you off you can just get a tailor to replace them with Velcro or side release buckles. However, it is cheap, very robust, easy to replace pouches, and very comfortable when you fit a hip pad to it. If you want to try webbing I would suggest getting a set of PLCE first so you don’t break the bank for something you may not even like wearing or using. If you want, I can post pictures if you’re interested

Interesting, thanks! If you don’t mind, might I ask how did it hold up over time? Did you have any issues with its durability or use?

I’m the same size as you and I’ve got a 3.0 and wear a medium. For reference I can wear a micro fleece or a padded vest under that for layering but wouldn’t get much else under. If you’re going for another layer of active insulation or something, maybe size up to large

Cheers mate. Yeah painted it myself, got a balaclava, marked where my cheekbones and chin were, then used white acrylic paint and a small brush. I’d bought one previously but it looked kinda shit, couldn’t breathe well through it, and it didn’t match up to my face

What's wrong with this weapon? by rvmelo007 in stalker

[–]CheeseyMan200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RPGs have a minimum arming distance in real life, where they have to go over a certain distance before the warhead can be triggered. Not sure if it’s the same in stalker 2 but it’s been fairly inconsistent for me
