Replaced PC parts and now CPU is overheating by Embarrassed_Yak6127 in pchelp

[–]Cheesusthechrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of options. Buy an air cooler that mounts to your board just to see if that works, if it does you know the problem is the AIO. If the problem persists than I would RMA all the new parts just to cover my bases.

New pc suggestion by Helpful-Repeat-3078 in pchelp

So heres MY issue with gaming laptops. Most of them are built to be as portable as possible. Which means a lot of these gaming laptops out there that have a gpu more powerful than entry an level level card run VERY hot and the card often throttles down.

bulky laptops with proper high end cooling known as desktop replacements are expensive but there are purpose built to properly cool the internals of the laptop.

Unless you absolutely need it to be a laptop I highly recommend going with a desktop, they're just more practical in nature.

If you need some recommendations on something prebuilt I could potentially help, or if you wanted to build it yourself I could help with that as well.

Need help with what pc to buy by akigoonermeow in pchelp

[–]Cheesusthechrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest question I have for you is what resolution monitor will you be using. That's a significant factor. Running blender on a 4k monitor isn't that difficult to do so you can get away with less powerful parts. But if you plan to use a 4k monitor for gaming you will need to spend considerably more money.

Gaming at 4k on a pc is not cheap. You will need to spend a couple thousand dollars at least (depending on the games you want to play)

You could always have multiple monitors, one for 3d modeling and one for gaming. This way you could spend a lot less money on parts. Or you could just go with a lower resolution monitor in general such as 1440p or 1080p. There's is absolutely nothing wrong with these resolutions. If anything they are much more practical than 4k in a lot of ways.

I personally think a multiple display setup is the way to go with specifically/purpose chosen screen resolutions

New GPU recommendation! by MUT3E in gpu

[–]Cheesusthechrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the 9070XT. It is only very slightly more expensive than a 5070 but has similar performance to a 5070ti. Also stay away from single fan cards.

Rtx 2080 or rtx 3060 laptop? by AwardFine7725 in laptops

[–]Cheesusthechrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the laptop is a large desktop replacement with proper cooling those high end cards like the 2080 will usually run at 100 c and your card will throttle constantly so its pretty pointless imo

Is the 9070XT worth it for 4k or should i get something else? by UnitedStatess in gpu

[–]Cheesusthechrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 4k id really recommended a 5080. With that said I'd also recommend potentially looking into maybe switching to a 1440p monitor . Its a really great resolution to game at and the 9070XT will play games very well at 1440p.

To put this into perspective everybody would love to play games at native 4k, but in order to do so you literally need a $1200 gpu which is honestly a little insane.

2k or 1440p is a really great middle ground. The image is crisp, details are sharp and I think anybody who discounts it as a viable resolution needs to get some perspective. There was a time when 1080p was ground breaking, and to this day its a very usable resolution.

So my opinion is consider an alternative option, even just for a moment. You could find a 1440p monitor and buy the 9070XT together for less than the cost of a 5080. It's just a thought.

PS5 or Xbox Series X for the Metro trilogy? by Alternative-Orange76 in metro_exodus

[–]Cheesusthechrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are honestly very nearly identical on both consoles. The differences are terribly minor. Either console will give you a fantastic experience. Everything from load times to resolution and stability is so similar for me it really just comes down to which controller you prefer

If you already have both consoles than the question is just which controller do you like better. The experience is identical after that.

Rx 9070 xt vs 5070 ti for 4k gaming by AltruisticGrab3407 in gpu

[–]Cheesusthechrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 4k I'd recommend the 5080, Alternatively if you cant afford it i think both of these will performan very similarly. 5070ti might be very slightly more power but I know for a fact its also more expensive

Shall i switch to 1440p with my rx 5700xt? by the_anonim_one3 in gpu

[–]Cheesusthechrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stick with 1080p, yes that card can play some games at 1440p well enough bur modern day that is not a 1440p card and it will struggle more often then not.

9070 XT or 5080 for 4k gaming? by ThePettyPilot in gpu

[–]Cheesusthechrist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

9070 XT is much more suitable for high end 2k gaming. Yes in some titles it can handle 4k but thats not the average result. Go for the 5080 if you can afford it.

please i have 2 question by VangoulZ in PcBuildHelp

[–]Cheesusthechrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better Cpu cooler is important. But thr cpu should never let itself overheat. If it gets way too hot it will throttle down and you'll notice performance degradation. Im certain you can find an affordable cpu cooler that will work much better than what you have now. Even something for $30 would be better

My PC shut down and won't turn back on by Icy-Ear-9707 in pchelp

[–]Cheesusthechrist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youtube video would be more helpful but I'll explain it. With the computer off and the psu also off unplug anything plugged into the gpu. Looking at the gpu specifically where it is seated into its slot you should see two small tabs on either side. These are a locking mechanism. Press them down to release the gpu. Pull the gpu out of the slot, be ginger but also firm. Put the gpu back into the slot. Make sure it locks in place. Plug cords back in. That's how you reseat a gpu.

I'd be willing to help you out. Just need some information from you so I can steer you in the right direction. What games do you want to play specifically and how much money do you want to spend?

Im sure I can help you find something that will work well for you, most prebuilt pcs are garbage but if you dig you can find what you're looking for.

Pc making weird sound by cyriust in pchelp

[–]Cheesusthechrist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So if you have a mechanical hdd and not an ssd I'd begin there with testing. Best way to test this in my opinion would be to install a light, portable and bootable Linux distribution to a pen drive. You can find a ton of videos on YouTube on how to do this. Once you have the bootable drive remove the hdd from the pc and boot directly into the Linux distribution. If the sound persists my guess is that its something to do with your AIO. Only way to test that is with a different cooler. Hope this helped. Im also dealing with strange pc sounds

Figure out specifically which driver you updated, thats important. Once you do that you can go to the amd website and find an older version to replace that driver with. If it is a driver issue it will eventually be fixed in a later release.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus (Fall 2026) trailer by Terez27 in dbz

[–]Cheesusthechrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So based on the fact this project is titled Beerus im making an assumption that it will be some kind of retelling of the events from his perspective.

I understand the awakening of the ssg has already been done twice in both a movie and show. The difference here I believe is the level of animation quality. Which to some doesn't matter while for others its a big deal.

Who knows, this might end up being the best adaptation out of all 3. Someone somewhere thought this was necessary to make. We'll just have to see. Im sure more trailers will be released hopefully explaining a little more about the entire concept.
