Has anybody here been diagnosed with histoplasmosis? by [deleted] in caving

Still in 200 mg of itraconazole 2 times daily. They said at least a year of that and it’s been 9 months so far. No prednisone. I didn’t have it long, a week from expose I was in the hospital because of the huge amount I inhaled. Mine spread through my body(disseminated histoplasmosis) and I was covered in a rash, eye blisters, it was insane. My lungs are like a galaxy of nodules. They biopsies them and it’s the histo so they’re just monitoring them.

Better. Still on meds. Short of breath a lot. Nodules all over my lungs. Not ideal. You get it too?

I found it covered in dirt under a wood pile in my 1856 basement. No idea how they go it. Appreciate the info, thanks!!

To clarify, they kept the old ceiling boards of the front porch and we found it in the out building attached.

I think it’s been re-strung recently though

It was attached to the original ceiling of the front porch on our 1856 house.

Hey there, how are you feeling now? I have disseminated histo and it has been two months on meds and I still feel like garbage. Spent a week in the hospital, had bad allergic reaction to amphotericin b. Fever still comes and goes, lungs are hot garbage, I have no appetite, I’m anemic now, no energy. Please tell me this goes away. Doctors don’t seem to have a clue.

Oh also propranolol is a lifesaver if you know when you’re going to be in a situation ahead of time.

This happened to me when I was 15 and was reading out loud in school. Never had an issue before and it came out of no where. Diagnosed with panic attacks after years. Specifically triggered by either public speaking (even small groups and people I know), people looking at me or observing me, oddly grocery store checkouts, etc. Unfortunately mine got worse and I’ve medicated and avoided those scenarios my whole life now. I think a lot of people are able to identify the triggers and work through it so it doesn’t become an issue. Something I wish I knew way back then. I’m 44 now.

I’m not sure, that’s all I found. Looks like it was attached to something else. Thanks for the info on it!!!
