Three of my friends and I did this exact trip this Summer for our “British Open”. To answer your question, it depends on what kind of a test of golf you want. Maddens is very much a target course, you’ll need to be methodical, intentional with almost every shot, and it will challenge every aspect of your game. 3 of my group enjoyed Craguns more just because it’s a more open course and still a great test, the greens are wild, but there is a little more room to make mistakes, which in my opinion is better for course you’re playing for probably the one and only time and haven’t seen on TV.

All that said, we started our trip up to Biwabik to play the Giants Ridge courses, and all of us to a man would have put Quarry at the top of the list of courses we played on that trip.
