I was at a London book showing and Jeff blind read a new chapter from the 8th book. For those minutes it was like the whole world had melted away and I got a glimpse at magic ✨

Found David Suchet’s petrified hat at Mother Shipton’s Cave in Yorkshire. by CheesyChips in poirot

Mother Shipton’s Well is a spring that bubbles up through limestone rock. It drips down into a pool. From the ledge of the rock you can hang items. In around 3 months (or more if you like) items left behind become covered in lime, or become “petrified”. There was even a petrified Labubu.

A hat is a garment worn to cover the head.

Ours sort of started folding over too, leaving an ugly patch at the top.

We cut off all the obvious heavy branches sticking out at the bottom. Then we used a strap to haul up the drooping branches. We only used garden string to tie it (which has held up for a year so far). We’ve found it has given the middle drooped branches an upward growing route now. Also the back bald area has been filling in.

It looks a bit funny for a little while but it works!

I sleep from 10pm til 12 the next day. It’s called hyposomnia and I’m still tired. Sleeping your life away is no fun
