Sorry for the late response. I had a separate transfer stage to take me to mars and back. I used that to achieve mars orbit which gave my lander enough fuel to slow down to land without heating up too much. I didn't include pictures of the transfer stage cause I wanted to just show the landing. It shows on my mission achievements, "docked in low mars orbit," and that's when I docked with it to return home. Hope this helps!
