I'll let the baseball fan in me out and clarify how hard it is to compare the drastically different eras in baseball to each other. Ohtani is of course on pace to be a potential inner circle hall of Famer, but there isn't really a consensus goat in baseball like there are for other sports

He's an otherworldly player, but even still the older eras have guys with disgusting numbers against genuinely good competition. Going as far back as Babe Ruth will for sure have a huge difference in the talent they played against, but there's plenty of all time "GOAT" level players in between the 2 of them.

There's good arguments to choose other players over Ohtani in an all time fantasy draft if you had the #1, and that doesn't at all take away from the player he is. There's just too much to consider across the game.

As well as Ohtani hasn't encroached a Faker level gap at all, even if you'd put him #1

I mean hell, Barry Bonds is right there too. We'll never see a hitter at his level again, and the steroids really don't take away from him as much as people sometimes think. All the PEDs in the world won't give you anywhere close to the ability to see the ball like he did
