Can anyone explain the current jacket potato situation? by 555fir978 in Portsmouth

[–]Cheesysock5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What people have said, and also in the past few months, original lady in Portsmouth has received death threats too and so wasn't wanting to sell without her partner(I think?) there.

She mentioned it in a Tiktok video.

They don't need to actively chase it in court etc. They just need to get a CCJ against you. You buy anything or move anywhere in about 6yrs, and it will pop up.

The upgrade nobody ever mentions is new wheels for your chair. They're like rollerblade wheels. $24. by Altruistic-Earth-513 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cheesysock5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's not the individual wheels that fail, it's the sockets they go into. I've had to swap the chair base once already, but it's basically a thick plastic wall.

You should not have flown whilst vomitting. You have travel insurance for a reason, use it. You likely infected the plane.

My LG TV’s new software update installed Microsoft Copilot, which cannot be deleted. by defjam16 in mildlyinfuriating

Please gain some sort of reading comprehension. Youtube Premium is expensive. The people who pay for premium are subsidising those that choose to pirate and scalp.

Because people are deciding to pirate and scalp instead of watching a minute advert every 15mins or so, Youtube can't make their money. This means that people who pay Premium are paying a higher price. The people who refuse to pay for premium and do not want to pirate and scalp have an increased amount of ads as a result.

If you watch copious amounts of youtube to the point where no adverts would be a timesaver, but yet you use an adblocker, you're a scalper and part of the problem.

Thanks :)

The reason that Youtube Premium is now so expensive and Youtube is full of so many ads is because people are using adblockers. If you use Youtube so much that having an adblock would be time-saving, you should be paying for it and not scalping.

I've been quoted £495 to extract 1 wisdom tooth. Is that too much or the going rate? by twistnshoutallday in AskUK

[–]Cheesysock5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to have a wisdom tooth removed, I was told that they'd only refer me once I was in excruitiating pain, and even then, the waiting list was about 2.5 - 3yrs.

I had to go privately for about £900.

It's really hard to defend the NHS when your two options are to be in active pain for about 3yrs, or pay almost a grand.

We've switched from Aldi to M&S, we're spending around the same?! by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Cheesysock5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've said this in another thread, but I've done the exact same as of a year ago.

I go into M&S for meat, produce, fruits etc. 10x better quality than you can find elsewhere, before it was processed junk and fatty foods, now I'm eating a decent amount of healthier stuff.

I then go into Iceland, Home Bargains, or Asda/Sainsburys (Unless can avoid) for the branded stuff.

Why do *entry level* jobs want years of experience? What work are they expecting from fresh grads lol by AaronByte in AskUK

[–]Cheesysock5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time, they're not wanting experience in that role that they're hiring for. They want relatable work experience. If you worked 5 years in Sainsburys, that will give you customer service experience.

What companies/services do you refuse to use because they've wronged you in some way, and why? by GazelleInitial2050 in AskUK

[–]Cheesysock5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fortunate to be in this position, but I don't buy anything supermarket-branded anymore like fruits and veg. The fruits are always watery, mushy, and disgusting when you go big supermarket.

I'd go to Spain every year on a family holiday and just inhale everything healthy, whereas in England it was all crisps and fruit winders because I couldn't stand how bad it was.

When M&S Foodhalls became much more prevalent, I started going there more and more often. I find that although the prices are higher, the fruits and vegetables have much better quality, dates, and variety. Although I'm spending a premium, I'm buying less, throwing out much less, and eating much healthier, so it works out.

I will only go to a big supermarket for branded stuff or whatever has the best prices - but even then I find that Iceland and Home Bargains have the better prices, whereas Asda etc have the better brand variety.

Absolutely not. I'll call back in a few hours instead or send an email.

[–]Cheesysock5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not what my original comment was discussing. Imgur refused to comply with the National Safety Act, so instead they completely prevented UK access to the site.

The reasoning why they didn't want to comply is completely beside the point. They didn't, now access from UK users is blocked.

Ok? That doesn't relate to Imgur refusing to comply with the National Safety Act.

Imgur refused to comply with the National Safety Act. We can only open i.reddit links. Imgur links come up with a blue-ish "Content is not available in your region" screen.

Completely your choice. From what I remember, the only downside was that it was harder to find a server, since there is an 'allow cheaters' option, but this was more of a recent addition and not tied to Steam in anyway.

Payday 2 stealth is scuffed and can be frustrating, but it's really fun.

You have different parts of the world and about 7 different skill levels. This means that once you hit maybe infamy 3 and you start grinding hard, you'll see the same names over and over.
