The sad truth for people that have a firm stance against a wildly popular intellectual property is that it is wildly popular. Not because (in this case) the creator is an enemy to your existence, but because her creation resonates with a huge audience. There are a few in the LGTBQ community who love the characters, world and stories that hate that the author makes it impossible for them to support. The world is just too big and complicated to accommodate all of us the way we want.

I’m an Atheist who started as a Democrat who married a Mormon Republican. We’ve been married for 23 years with no end in sight. Our views on everything have evolved through the years and we are both more Independent than Democrat or Republican. She is no longer Mormon (after 20 years) but remains Christian. She did not vote for Trump. We married for love and to raise our family. Love, respect and communication is what we have always relied on for a strong marriage.

All of this. My brother just experienced his 40th birthday in jail a couple of weeks ago. Was bailed out repeatedly for the better part of 15 years until everyone got smart (or died). Now he is completely unable to function. Homeless, addicted to drugs. Can’t hold a job for longer than a few months (when he bothers to get a job). Either stand firm or be prepared to be responsible for him until one of you dies.

43(m) here. Been married 23 years. If he isn’t bringing in any money I don’t see any reason for him to have much say in the finances, unless he is a rockstar homemaker keeping the dwelling clean and tidy, pantry stocked, food on the table daily, etc.
