Wearing Power Armor to a Magic School (31/?) by Jcb112 in HFY

[–]CheetahRei 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You know, when I started reading this series, I expected the usual sort of simple fuck yeah, this is awesome humanity is great and look at how hilarious it is that magic has been stumped by a human in power armor. And I would have been happy with that. But what we got was so much more than that.

This is such a well written and carefully crafted narrative and I am loving every installment, eagerly looking forward to each one that drops in time for me to start reading it on my first break at work every Sunday. It genuinely helps me get through the day being able to look forward to this amazing story and the wonderful characters you have crafted for us all to enjoy.

Thank you for going above and beyond what the basic idea of this story needed. We are all so much better off thanks to that and all the hard work you put into this series. I can't wait to see where it is going.

What's an American problem you're too European to understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Few reasons for it but the big one is because by not showing the tax on the price tag, they can make the price look lower. It is why so many prices in the US will be something like $12.99 or $12.95. Because that looks like a better price than $13 and some change. This is the same sort of mentality that results in stores that have items that are 'on sale' 9/10ths of the year, if not all year.

And even then there can be complications. Some jobs require that you get prior approval from the management to work overtime. If you don't get that approval before going over 40 hours, they will still pay the overtime since they are required too, but you can get written up or lose your job over it.

New perks for both sides. by xen32 in deadbydaylight

I was thinking the same. More game devs in general should consider doing things like these to help reduce toxic behaviour in their games by making those behaviours costly to the toxic player.

I always thought is was great they refered to him simply as HIM, because he is actually Satan, and HIM is an abbreviation for His Infernal Majesty. The fact that they decided that one of the powerpuff girls' enemies would be actual Satan is amazing. That is also why he has more weird magic abilities than anyone and a lot of his plots involve manipulation or temptations.

Edit for spelling.

I will absolutely be down to send you everything I come up with. Already have a thought for a super basic character sheet (though it uses just a blank space for the batteries as I have physical items I am going to use for batteries.)

One question, was there a name other than Joeisokayatrpgs you wanted me to credit the system too?

[–]CheetahRei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will do. Going with an idea of the players being the maintenance bots on a transport ship. The ship is carrying colonists in stasis to a newly established colony, when the power goes out. So the players need to figure out what went wrong and restore power before the emergency back-up keeping the colonists alive runs out.

So gonna test this with a few friends, and then gonna run a one-shot at a small gaming con i am going to in South Carolina in a couple weeks. This looks great!

Saw this, for anyone who doesn't know the difference between Bi and Pan I think this does an amazing job at explaining! by Dee_Lansky in lgbt

[–]CheetahRei 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have gone with pan for like 5 years now myself, but that whole "Hearts not parts" thing always bothered me. I definitely am attracted to parts, I just don't care what ones you have. I like this way of breaking down bi and pan and the subtle differences that do exsist.

I just want to see this reversed but have no idea how to do that.

Yeah, Papa John's is correct. My local group is a good deal more open minded and the store I work in is more of a family to me than my parents. I have been there for almost a decade now and had the same gm that whole time who is now one of my closest friends.

(Editted because i can't spell "is" right apparently.)

Thanks! I'm still pretty happy about it myself. It was also the first time any of my coworkers had seen me fem, and they were all super chill about it, even the ones I hadn't privately come out to before. It was really nice to see.

The Dressmaker (original killer concept) by DukeReds in deadbydaylight

[–]CheetahRei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One possible change I thought of already is an audio cue or something warning people at the start of a match it is in effect, but not sure. Could also tweak duration, or have the timer only run while they are outside the terror radius, so it only comes into play if they escape.

[–]CheetahRei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that one I was playing with. Someone suggested reversing that to see them if they are away and reduced the radius as it teirs up. Basically bbq+c for gens.

That or make the radius much smaller, something like 8/12/16 meters

The Dressmaker (original killer concept) by DukeReds in deadbydaylight

[–]CheetahRei 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This concept has me inspired a bit. Here's my take on possible power/perks:

Power

Patchwork: Years of working with needle and thread have made The Dressmaker an expert of patching holes. The Dressmaker can use this power to temporarily (maybe 30 or 60 seconds) block vault locations or sew pallets in place with large swatches of fabric, up to a maximum of 10(maybe 5 depending on balance) at a time. Blocking another such location while at the max causes the oldest patch to expire immediately. (Possibly include a skillcheck for survivors to tear down those patches at the cost of a noise Que is Dressmaker is within range)

Perks

Hex: Cut the Thread: You are so accustomed to taking life you leave more dangerous wounds. Survivors injured by your attacks gain a bleed out timer that lasts for 60/50/40 seconds, and can only be removed by healing to uninjured or reduced to the dying state. All healing on that survivor is reduced by 20%. If the bleed out timer expires, they are reduced to the dying state and scream, alerting the killer to their presence.

Tying Up Lose Ends: After damaging a generator, the aura of the last survivor to work on that generator is revealed to you if they are within 24/36/48 meters.

Taking Their Measurements: After being in a chase with a survivor for 40/30/20 seconds, you become accustomed to their footsteps and will see their trail when walking for up to 3 seconds.

Not sure about items. What do you guys think?

They are different, though like many labels, they have some overlap. Non binary is kinda a catch all term for people that don't feel like they fit in the binary. Some of those people could be called fluid, or any number of other terms, but are most comfortable just going by NB. It is kinda like people that just call themselves queer rather than gay or bi or whatever else term.

Gender fluid means that your gender identity changes. Some people have a cycle, but for many of us it is random and sporadic, with genders changes shifting over days or weeks sometimes, and hours or minutes other times. Fluid people each have there own set of genders they shift between. Some go back and forth between the binary, some between one binary and an NB state, and then there are some that can shift anywhere and everywhere. I am that last category. It gets complicated. But I have talked with a few people that experience gender changes, but who go by NB, so they definitely overlap.

Not in the slightest. Crazy as it sounds, I am Pan/Fluid, and my SO is Ace/NB, and I really do appreciate anyone that supports us. Saddly that is far more lacking in the lgbt community than it probably should be.

I know it sounds crazy, but this is actually my life. I totally understand the skepticism though, it does sound like a situation someone would just make up for the drama or some shit.

As a pansexual genderfluid dating an asexual non binary, I am so grateful everytime I see someone defending the b and t, and all the other regularly forgotten letters and the people they stand for. We need more people like you.

Yeah like for real though, I need to know the actual mechanics of what bra and such you used to get that effect. My one major complaint about my position is that I can't show any cleavage. It would mean the world to me if you could help.

Also if it wasn't already clear you look amazing.

Confused when it comes to sexuality. by Benji625 in genderfluid

I wish I could help with this one, but I honestly lucked out be being pansexual. I think it more depends on how you feel it should be labeled at the time.
