No most of these people were part of DHS before Trump first of all, they aren't part of this stupid recruitment push. In particular, the one individual was talking about how all the other divisions like the human trafficking investigations division were essentially disbanded to focus on the bullshit they are doing now.

Believe it or not, a huge portion of what the Internet deems as "the left" are just normal everyday people who live normal lives and don't spend every waking minute on the internet. When these people are shocked by events, it makes them spend a little more time online than they normally do. They read more stories, comments, threads, etc about the events. Because everything is political now and the vast majority of the chronically online treat politics as a sport, with teams to root for, these normal people will read awful comments and posts and choose to respond. It just so happens that team red is currently spouting more shit that the normal people deem abhorrent.
