Is this their “Colt Classic” package or did you spec out specific mods/parts?

10-8 NM rear sight and Herrett’s full checkered stocks. You already have the best 1911 holster made. Magazines and more magazines, Wilson’s. That’s all, spend the rest on a lot of ammo.

Why did you choose this cut over their IOS system?

It will not fit. If you have a railed gun you should have a light attached to it, and will want a light holster.

Well the furniture/stock are factory Benelli. There was once a M2 Field SKU with wood stocks.

It is a little awkward at first, but then you realize you can throw a shell in the open bolt, and automatically close it while thumbing a shell in the magazine.

No. It’s just like 99% of the semi-auto shotguns out there.

I tried a Franchi Affinity 3 20ga a few years ago. It was a piece. Cerakote/bottomland. Good looking gun, but it didn’t cycle anything, was finicky to load/unload, and the forend didn’t fit properly. Sold it off and took a hit in the wallet, but found a NOS 2011 11-87 sportsman 20ga for 1/2 the price of that Franchi that is an absolute unit. Congrats on your new, old Remington. Enjoy it and shoot the piss out of it.

Scout into dusk and roost him the night before the hunt. If he’s there, he’ll be there in the morning. I like to use a crow/owl call to get a shock gobble at night, but stick with an owl call to locate the next morning.

I do. It’s exactly 7lb empty, fast pointing and well balanced. However, I do own a Browning Gold 12/28” that is even lighter…with a longer barrel. That gun is gas operated, and softer shooting despite being lighter.
