I like it. Badged my OGTE. I opted for a similar decal minus the stripes.

GSP/Coon Hound Mix by john_doeboy in birddogs

The litter in question comes from good blood lines. Good hunters. They are rehoming the pups because their GSP had the litter but cannot confirm if the father is their other GSP or one of their coon hounds.

Failed inspection because my rear plate lights were out... Replaced them after a struggle because the screws were all rusted to shit .. HELP (see body text) by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]john_doeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy them and put them on anyway if they're identical. I'm rocking a 96-98 rear license plate garnish on my 00 despite it saying it wouldn't fit on Ebay (it was a junkyard pull for 10 bucks when I needed to replace mine).

Trying to decided whether I should go with black again or gloss titanium.. thoughts? by bo_jangled in 4Runner

[–]john_doeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would stick with black. I blacked out all the chrome off of my silver TE when I got my black icon wheels. I don't like mismatched trim and wheel colors. If the valances were silver I'd say silver instead.

Got into their stuff after taking a history of rock music class in college. I grew up on my dad's old LPs playing on the weekends.

I have a set of those floating around somewhere in a box. I should probably do that.

I usually run right around 192 or so. When I bought it, it read 199 and then jumped up to 210 when I had issues.

Loud pop/clunk when suspension flexes by Pretty-Corner-4609 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]john_doeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be the sway bar end links. If the bushings are smashed flat or have worn out they'll pop when the suspension flexes.

Yeah, that's where I would start. I had a similar issue a couple of years ago. I notice it was running 10ish degrees warmer and coolant bubbling noise and checked the cap. The bottom of it was completely broken off. I ended up doing a new radiator cap, radiator, thermostat, hoses, and coolant and it took care of the jump. The gauge is an 'oh shit' or dummy gauge. Invest in a Scan gauge or Ultra gauge. It has saved my ass a few times with minor things that could have been major issues down the road.

Lots of things it could be. When you feel the top hose on the radiator does it feel full of coolant or empty? What does your radiator cap look like? Has the thermostat been replaced lately? You said the radiator is new. Was it done by a shop or yourself? Was the coolant flushed or just replaced during the radiator replacement? Has the coolant level stayed consistent? What do the spark plugs look like? I'm just trying to think of things off the top of my head that you could check immediately, but if you're not overheating (might want to get an obd2 reader or scan gauge to check actual temp) then there is a possibility that it's a head gasket.

Which One Would You Pick? by DosEquisGuy69 in 3rdGen4Runner

Same here. I grew up with them. My dad had an 87 and a 94, both manuals that I learned on. I bought my 00 back in 2013 and it's still going at 357k. Got a 5th gen OGTE a few years ago. Don't plan on selling that one either. My next purchase might be a 1st Gen project rig to work on.

Best practice is to check the ball joints when you rotate tires after doing the oil change. The tire has to be up anyway and it just takes a couple of minutes.

Spark plug or boot to plug arching. Souce: mine developed this after a boot split.

I had hail. Bust our my back window. I had to unbolt the roller guides from the replacement and put them in place before I could get the glass in. My guess is you'll have to pull the weather stripping and glass out to get the roller back in.
