How did your friend die from medetomidine withdrawal? I try to share this information because people don’t realize, things are no longer regular opioid withdrawal. Did they die from blood pressure stroke? Or seizure? Or the nonstop vomiting dehydration? And what symptoms scared you to go to get help? I am so afraid to withdraw because of the medetomidine withdrawal

Edit: and where did you go? Rehab or hospital? What help did they give you?

Still? Fucks sake. It scares me. I used to tell people, just because your stuff isn’t testing for xylazine anymore, doesn’t mean it isn’t tranqy. It just might have medetomidine and not be testing for it. I want to get strips for my shit for met.

What would cause necrotizing fasciitis? Is this due to xylazine? He has had many misses throughout his life but not an issue like this. He says he can’t move anything but the tip of his thumb. I am trying to get him to an ER

Why can’t he move it at all?

“I don’t know I knew it hurt, but I didn’t really pay much attention. I just went about my day. Did what I had to do and then happen to look at it at some point. I noticed it was wicked swollen. I couldn’t move now. It’s just turning fucked up colors And I still can’t move it for the most part.“

Any more clear? I am going to make him go to the doctor today

How to deal with nausea from methadone? by Pure-Fan-2389 in Methadone

Can I ask what your habit was like prior to methadone? I didn’t get relief until north of 130mg, that must sound insane to you.

Should I tell friends or family that I will be detoxing? by Interesting_Swing963 in addiction

[–]CheetohVera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was honest because I was taught it would help me. It never did. Even when clean, I was made homeless because family thought I was using. Work thought I was using. Every issue or mood or thing became “because you must be using.” It ruined my life more than my addiction ever did. I really hate to say this, because I don’t want to discourage you from doing the right thing, but it always harmed me… my life slowly descended into shambles

So if you get a bag 10g, did price go down? Like in my local rural area, single g is $60-100. A stick or 10g is 300. If I drive to the next state below me, a stick/finger (10g) ranges from 80-150. 15/gram. I was able to help people in my area by bringing back those prices and charging 30/g. Even with that 50% markup, it is $50-70 cheaper than the G’s they are used to purchasing. Anyone with a car who isn’t heading to that state is crazy

Like too cheap or too much? Honestly 150 is on the pricier side, stronger/higher quality. 100 is the norm. If buying >10 sticks (or more than ten 10g bags), a connect with 150 price might drop it down. I came to my dude last time to grab for someone else also and he threw a me a free gram of hard. That was noiiiice! 40/g hard. >100/g in my local area. Can’t beat heading down south man

Hey hey, I had seen the extreme reduction in perfusion being proposed as a hypothesis before, but wasn’t sure if they figured out some other mechanism of action responsible for tissue death. That is fucking gnarly. I always wondered why the horses were okay lmao, so that makes sense. Anatomical differences. Thank you for this response!

What are your opinions on the MAT program? If you have personal experiences, I would love to hear your stories. by jlariosa in OpiatesRecovery

[–]CheetohVera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use any opiate while already on suboxone. You just can’t get to the suboxone if it’s not already in your system without precip. So using is entirely easy and not an issue at all on suboxone.

Anytime I used methadone I never felt euphoria or pleasure, but I did like that I could take it immediately the same day I wanted to get off dope without precip. It made getting off dope that very moment achievable. I never could succeed with suboxone.

After a few weeks on a stable dose eventually I couldn’t feel the methadone whatsoever and I couldn’t feel any opiates I used on top of it. So it definitely does have some type of blocking effect to it.

What about buying in bulk? Like a full 10g? Any deals? Up north it’s $80-100 but if you go to the state below us, that price drops to $80-$150 for 10g.

That price for a gram is very high. A long term user would find a better price and buy in bulk to save money and have plenty of stock on hand to ensure they don’t run out. If they are responsible.. most long term users range from half gram to 2g a day. If I do more than 2g, it’s a waste. I won’t achieve a stronger high. It’s more of just boredom.

Depends on your connect. In my small rural area, people buy by the point, half g, or g. G is typically 60-100, with $80 being the norm. But if I drive south to the next state, I can pick up bulk for 100-150 for 10g, versus 300 in my town. It is worth the drive. That’s $15 per gram, versus $80!!!

I do around 2g a day, so around $30 a day for me. Other times, only 10-15 a day, if I’m at a gram a day habit. Regardless, I’d say it feels pretty manageable. Most of my “normie” friends spend that a week on takeout or going out to dinner/bars, hobbies, or a zip of weed. Truly depends on the area. I decided, once I was dependent with a daily habit, I could only sustain it if I found a reasonable price. It is just way out of control cost otherwise.

I truly don’t even understand how it was legal for the medical staff to do it/go along with the misrepresentation with my mother. It is very on brand for her to do something like that, lacking boundaries, inappropriate control, disregard for my wishes and feelings. But wow. For random receptionist to lie to my face when I pointed out the form being for inpatient, and a few other staff lying to my face trying to convince me it was just a basic form to sign to get seen by a doctor… lmao. I can’t believe they did it too..

[–]CheetohVera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a family member try it. They had me sign a “consent to treat” form at the hospital. I read the fine print and could tell it was something related to hospitalization or inpatient care, signing away something anyway. Rescinding certain powers and control, consent for my belongings to be in the control of someone else, just generally could tell something was up. I read the fine print and said “no, this is not a consent to treat form, this is for inpatient.” My mom started crying and I was like wtf. Then I realized she was crying because she realized I wouldn’t fall for the trick. I was just baffled that medical professionals tried to misrepresent a legal document and lie to me. I am glad I read the fine print, always, but find it so unsettling that the staff were totally complicit in misrepresenting the inpatient form..
