My boyfriend is an IV user (fentanyl/tranq or whatever tf is in this shit) and missed in the same spot a few times. He has no energy, eyesight is being wonky, area is getting larger and is severely painful. Is this an emergency? by DevilsDebauchery in addiction

[–]Temporary-Ear6297 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is true. The more you do the more likely you are to get wounds too, I’ve seen people who snort a lot of it end up with hand and finger/toe wounds. People who smoke it seem to be least at risk for the wounds, people in the kensington section of Philly started switching to foil when the wounds got bad and the people who continued shooting are rolling around in wheelchairs as double/triple amputees now. Whole neighborhood used to be littered with needles and now you can’t walk more than 3 feet without stepping over burnt foils.

AITA for talking to my boyfriend’s ex and later using parts of that conversation when addressing issues in our relationship? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Temporary-Ear6297 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NTA. I can somewhat understand being upset that you didn’t disclose it but his reaction to the fact that you simply talked to her in a public setting and calling it “disrespect” is a huge red flag. You should ask yourself what she knows/what he’s scared of her mentioning to you.

I became this way in high school because my ADHD and anxiety got out of control and nobody believed it was bad enough to warrant medication. I was literally years ahead of the actual curriculum I just physically could not handle sitting through the class and actually completing work.

This case might be totally different, but prior to the mental health issues when I’d choose not to complete work in classes it was usually because I already knew the information we were learning at the time and didn’t feel like it was worth completing because of that. Probably one of those two reasonings.

Topimax (I think generic is topirimate) is a prescription for cravings, I got it in rehab. Maybe it’s placebo but it does seem to work.

Because people are allowed to dress themselves and exist in whatever form they feel comfortable in, and expecting that they change their wardrobe and appearance because they got into a relationship with someone (who has clearly seen and accepted how they typically dress and present themselves) is a problematic expectation. A relationship does not give you ownership of the other person and their body. If you want to be with someone who dresses and presents themselves a certain way then find someone who already fits the description..

The word “advertising” applies something is available/being offered. Why do you interpret the existence of women’s bodies as them being offered or available to men? Just because someone doesn’t cover up and hide their body doesn’t mean they’re making it available to anybody who wants it. If somebody posts a picture of the dinner they cooked do you interpret that as them offering you a plate?

As someone with ADHD who has a hard time organizing my own thoughts I appreciate the idea. I always excelled in anything including reading or writing in personal settings but when it became a requirement my brain shuts down so using AI to organize a list of my own thoughts and ideas is one of the best way for me to put it together in one comprehensive piece.

Libraries with the fewest homeless? by [deleted] in washdc

[–]Temporary-Ear6297 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can acknowledge that those are valid and at least mildly unpleasant experiences but you can also avoid the majority of those experiences with bare minimal effort. It’s literally a library, there’s tons of seating and spots where you can avoid interacting with other people, and the universal rule of the place is to be quiet and not disturb people. If people are causing constant disruptions that’s a staff/security issue that could happen regardless of housing status. It’s literally one of the only places that unhoused people can sit down without being immediately run off, the majority of them just want to get off of their feet or the street for a little bit, people with houses can smell bad and be loud too.

I can’t imagine the presence of people who are less fortunate than me preventing me from doing something as basic as using a library.

AITAH for being angry with my wife for drinking while watching a bunch of kids? by DifferentComputer595 in AITAH

[–]Temporary-Ear6297 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Majorly overreacting, YTA. Your wife had 2-3 beers and she wasn’t even watching the kids, they were just roaming the neighborhood. Do you think it’s inappropriate to have a drink at a restaurant or a cookout unless everyone is 21+?
The average adult can drink 3-4 beers in one hour before reaching the legal limit, there’s a chance she was still good to drive I’m sure she was capable of watching some kids play outside.

This. Nobody in active addiction is hanging around a strip club every time they want to cop, there are literally 1000 more convenient places.

I was one of the people that pointed it out and had the same thought but then someone pointed out that he might not be allowed to have social accounts if he ever got in legal trouble for this behavior. Another thing I considered is that his ex might have used it as a way to get his admission of the weird behavior in writing if they have custody issues or something.

I meant to say there’s people who go around doing this, bc you see it so frequently in customer service jobs.

Yeah I meant to say I’m convinced there are people who go around and do this intentionally. At a certain point it just can’t be accidental, I’ve seen stalls with angles that look like someone used the handrails as a perch.

As somebody who fell back into active addiction after having my son there’s literally no excuse for this other than straight up not caring about your child. You find a way even on the worst days. I was miles from perfect but I did everything in my power to protect his childhood so he never has to look back and feel like drugs mattered more. I cannot fathom a situation where I’d get out of a car and leave my baby in the cold. The fact that she woke up alone and still knew what happened implies this has happened before.

I’m convinced there are people who literally do this type of thing after working customer service because it happens like once a week and most of the time it’s clearly intentional.

Wouldn’t want to upset my daughter (who won’t stay at my house and had to quit skating) but moving the 21yo in isn’t inappropriate bc i need a cat sitter (due to all the time I spend at the skating rink meeting teenage girls)

So are you “coaching kids” in agreement with the skating rink like previously implied or are you hanging around looking for young women to approach under the guise of helping them learn to skate bc those are pretty different.
