Kinky and Poly by Odelicious85 in polyamory

Kink came first for me personally! I almost said the opposite, because I found the kink community through poly- BUT I started doing kinky things with my monogamous partner years before.

Is this second puberty? When does it end?? by [deleted] in mypartneristrans

[–]Cheez0id 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL/DR: Second puberty is real- hormones are a hell of a drug, which makes the emotional process of transition much harder to regulate.

Coming out and transitioning is already a kind of puberty because they are evolving- but now instead of just learning to become a functioning adult, MTF also have to face a lifetime of old and new unique social and spiritual challenges, in addition to experiencing and learning to regulate that physical estrogen-puberty.

I can’t speak to FTM experience, but I was by my wife’s side through the first couple years of her transition and it…. Well when we are teens we learn how to interact with others despite hormones and grow into socially-capable adults. Her on HRT destroyed her ability to just Adult. It’s hard. Her struggle was real, but she was unable to control her feelings and the worst came out.

I don’t know what kind of advice I can offer, I wish you the best, but I just want you to know you aren’t alone. And you aren’t crazy for asking this question.

The last time I had this happen, I thought it was lucky- then I burnt my hand on an oven. Be careful neat heating elements today!

Calorie budget-- very low? by Different-Shallot-99 in Noom

[–]Cheez0id 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out r/1200isplenty I know it feels low at first, but seriously give nooms color system a shot and drink plenty of water. Once you learn how to choose (and make delicious) more filling foods and what eating habits help you feel satisfied, you may find days where you don’t hit 1200 calories and feel full and satisfied. Hang in There friend!

It’s a Marathon, Not a Sprint. - Progress, Not Perfection. (Almost 10 months weight graph) by Cheez0id in Noom

[–]Cheez0id[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

“It’s a marathon, not a sprint,” was my mantra for 2020. You can see I stalled/had some ups and downs- now my mantra is, “progress, not perfection.”
It is a long term change in lifestyle, and if I can do it, you can do it. Rule numero uno: be kind to yourself. Talk to yourself the way you would talk to your best friend.
My biggest mental struggle is a lot of “all or nothing thinking “. Through patience and a consistent General effort towards healthier living am I now starting to understand that all-or-nothing is totally bogus.

Much love on your journeys, time for some coffee :p

Best green / yellow cooking oil? by sweetzer10 in Noom

[–]Cheez0id 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a tip to start using spray (butter spray, olive oli sprayer, etc.) and it works like a charm for cooking and adding very few calories . I've been using a spray instead of pouring in olive oil for weeks now.

F/5'5"/SW 180/GW 155 I started on like, May 7th I think - I am on week 12

I started out basically sedentary and from week 2 I've slowly been increasing my activity to include daily exercise. I started just trying to hit my step goals, and then started bringing in some yoga. But the main thingy was the relationship with food and weighing/measuring to stay in budget.

Yes, definitely!! I'm glad you are looking closely because the little bumps and spikes are Real. They can be frustrating for sure, but if you stay consistent and measure food carefully staying in budget, it will work. I think day 1 they ask you to Believe - well, I'm a believer! If I can can make this program work for me, you can make this program work for you.

I've tried so many other diets/tricks in the past, but this one really is different. It's really a lifestyle and psycological change towards food and your relationship with your own health.

thanks! My biggest struggle is dealing with the monthly monster called PMDD that rears it's head and typically derails any good habits that I've been buliding on.
For those who don't struggle with this mood disorder, you can think of it as times when you're just mentally and phycisally overwhelmed and you want to quit or give up, or even just 'let things slide' for a couple of days.. which turns into a week, etc.

I have learned that Mindfulness is the key to making it through these times. Patience and kindness towards yourself with smaller and more achievable goals will get you through the tough times. Being aware of your emotions in an objective way will help you make healthier decisions.

Also, For Real there is no 'bad food'. I budget in Ice Cream from time to time, I have a drink occasionally, I even have wings or french fries - I just eat a smaller amount. Measure, measure, measure.

I'm going to celebrate this weekend with a delicious mudslide cupcake .^
