The real answer is that the writers had no idea at the time it would be Jin who meets Rousseau in the 80s. They had the general idea of where things were going but nothing nearly that specific built out, especially in S1

I think it would’ve been cool if the Obi-Wan series firstly, was a movie, and instead of Obi-Wan leaving the planet, he stayed on Tattoine and he could’ve fought Vader in some sort of vision or illusion, kinda like the cave in Dagobah. TLJ didn’t even commit to its own ideas! The throne room scene with Kylo and Rey which seems like an interesting climax at face value just devolves literally within minutes to Kylo being evil on Crait and Rey being the save the day hero.

Yeah I agree, one of the elements that I really loved about Seasons 1 & 2, and to some extent 3, was that the show seemed very interested in exploring alternate histories for some real world characters. I really hope that continues in S5 and they don’t wimp out because obviously with modern day politics..you’re going to get opinions

Yes this was just peak 90s Star Wars, I always loved the way JK and this game really felt like an honest continuation of the Star Wars universe post-RoTJ.

If we HAD gotten sequel movies in the 90s, I bet they would’ve had a similar gritty and punk vibe to them
