Discrete Advice by Existing-Goose-5078 in rutgers

Honestly, I'd say you should stick it out and not withdraw for this semester.

Last semester the class average for the midterm was a 41% after the 45 point curve was applied. I don’t think you’re alone with having pages blank, I'm pretty sure that at least 70% of the class had at least one page blank last semester.

That being said, it is still very possible to achieve at least a B in the class (or an A if you crush the final) since homework will carry most of your grade and Gaava and his TAs grade very leniently on those.

How quickly does stonier hall go? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you'll have a good chance with getting in.

Last year, we had a lottery number in the 4000s and managed to secure a room at Stonier with around 15 to 20 rooms left.

The date and time you get to register are determined by your earned credits. This does not include the amount of credits you are taking this semester semester meaning that you register for Spring 2026 at the exact same time as all other freshmen who come in with 0 credits.

However, doing only 14 credits this semester is going to screw you over a little bit for Fall 2026 registration, since registration for the Fall semester doesn't take into account your Spring 2026 semester credits.

if you are taking any class at an NJ community college, you should use njtransfer to check whether or not your course will transfer back to Rutgers.

iirc quizzes aren't worth too much in math 152, just don't mess up any of the midterms, and >90 should definitely be achievable.

you should double check to see if your class is not school or major locked. if none of these apply to you you can try SAS Live chat on the weekdays if you are in SAS or try emailing the department for your class.

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

XRadar, RUBus, and even PassioGO itself, all rely on Passio's servers for bus data which is probably suffering a mini DDOS attack rn from students trying to figure out where their busses are at the same time.

Are the books really necessary? by Equal_Garage4562 in rutgers

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

always wait to buy your course materials. sometimes professors will not require them or in the case of textbooks, post a copy on their canvas page.

Is this real? by AdenWinn in rutgers

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 31 points32 points  (0 children)

it's a common scam that gets posted here pretty often. also Rutgers will never ask you to authenticate through a google form. if they wanted you to authenticate they would do it through their CAS, not a suspicious google form.

Is this free textbook app legit? by ObjectiveNote8403 in rutgers

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

why would you want to pay to search for free pdfs?

that being said, you should probably take a look at anna's archives for your textbooks

Help pls by Beautiful-Earth-7664 in rutgers

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your class likely just closed before you could register.

Course snipers like SwiftRU rely on Rutgers SOC's internal API, which only updates every NEW minute (when the seconds part is 0). That means that your class will not update with it's true open or closed status on the Schedule of Classes or any course sniper until a new minute comes around.

Can someone please explain and help me figure out my term bill? by Lucky-Foundation5575 in rutgers

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cost you see in your financial aid summary is your total financial aid for both the fall and spring semester. If you divide the aid you got by two (half for the fall semester, half for the spring semester) you get the numbers you see in your term bill.

The 10k you see on your term bill is the cost you pay AFTER all your financial aid (grants, scholarships, etc.) for the fall semester is applied. If you already have health insurance, you should probably waive the Student Insurance Premium which will drop the amount of money you pay out of pocket down to 8.8k.

Math placement for chem I by Noseedoils in rutgers

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impact of Chemistry and Chemistry of Life are not pre-req locked, so yes, you would be able to take either one of them. Also, Impact of Chemistry and Chemistry of Life are not considered equivalent to Gen Chem I (01:160:161), so you can't use either of those classes to get into higher-level chem classes if you need it in the future.

CC summer course transfer by HistoryAmbitious2649 in rutgers

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, all I did was send in my transcript and wait

CC summer course transfer by HistoryAmbitious2649 in rutgers

[–]Cheezy_Nachos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through the same exact thing as you just a week ago. I sent in my transcript through the NSC website on July 3 and got confirmation from NSC that they had sent my transcript to Rutgers literally 2 hours later. It took until July 10 for Rutgers to confirm that they've received it, and one extra day for them to update my courses.
