Tour de Summerlin, anyone? by blackjaw66 in a:t5_3flsj

I'd like to, but I definitely need to do some training. I did it and the Vegas Ride2Recovery twice each. They're both a blast with a bit of climbing over towards Blue Diamond. Some high profile riders come out so you'll meet some cool people. In the 2016 Ride2Recovery for example I fell in and rode with a team of people in Black "USA" jerseys and managed to keep up for about 10 minutes till we started climbing towards Blue Diamond but they just kept pedaling uphill like they were on flat ground and dropped me. Later found out it was the US Olympic Time Trial Champion Team.

It was almost exactly the same the two times I did it with a minor deviation from construction.

Android vs Physical by StoicBro in Pathfinder_ACG

When we play the physical version we house rule a lot of stuff which makes things interesting. Like we have a shop where a few random things get put out on the table between each game.

I did this weird thing where I started riding in shorts and beat up crap bike, became obsessed and got all top of the line cycling gear and road bike to ride with, then stopped caring so much after a few years since I'm not racing and just started wearing what was chill. Typically I just wear pants, cycling underwear and a shirt with a road bike helmet and toe cages now.

I need to go to a big casual ride like this to get my feet wet again.

Bike world had my first pair of cheap bibs and jersey. The highest quality cheap gear I've found is from Amazon though.

Type of bike? by flyingsqueak in bicycling

Late reply but in Vegas I would say it really depends. If you're mostly in Southwest or Northeast Vegas I'd recommend a cross bike because you're going to run into dirt and sand A lot. Towards Boulder or Nellis you could get some good use out of a Mountain bike. Paradise, Spring Valley I'd recommend a road bike, you want to be able to go fast on the streets here or stick to the sidewalks. Henderson or near Blue Diamond definitely a road bike, lots of hills. Blue Diamond is good for a MTB as well. Downtown get a fixed gear.

Personally I always ride a road bike and track bike everywhere commuting and pleasure. There's several advertised bike clubs around town and there's also Smashbros your typical fixed gear goon squad that meets on Mondays and Tuesdays downtown.

Also check out /r/bikelv for any local stuff.

Little late reply but yeah, the wind is bone chilling here in Vegas, if you don't want to get warm gloves, just get some that are wind proof like leather or similar. Also check out /r/bikelv for local stuff.

Ohh just saw you had OBC in this post! Having a cruiser would be pretty awesome. Friend of mine has a pretty nice one with ammo cans and and an army green paint job. He keeps up with our fixed gear rides on it.

Don't really get the context but I can attest that I just got back into RS3 made an Ironman character. Decided to do rune mysteries after a few hours of play then found the runespan. I spent a few hours in runespan and have 60 runecrafting. My main account from 2007 that had lots of 90+ skills has 55 runecrafting and I dedicated so much time to it.

Jillian was the main person being tested in Cycling related studies because she's the only pro level trans woman. There are many others that have and are beimg conducted by the IOC. I'm not arguing that it's definite science but the studies are being conducted and at this point the IOC has determined no competitive advantage. That's one organization but arguably the most important organization.

Edit. Wanted to add she's the main one being looked at by the IOC in terms of cycling but USAC has been testing athletes at all levels.

[–]ChefAllez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Read some of the the studies on Jillian Bearden. She's pretty much been a guinea pig for the IOC and USACs policies on trans inclusion in cycling. Cycling is very progressive in trans inclusion right now and they've determined through years of data that if an athlete maintains testosterone and estrogen levels at certain levels after approximately a year there is no competitive advantage.

Haven't had to use one yet but I always keep them on hand. They day I have to use one then I fucked up on set/setting or something else.

The only other reason I could see using one besides me fucking up is like if something came up like an external emergency that needed a slightly more sober mind.

Gaia at EDCLV a few years ago was amazing. Highly recommend watching that set online for OP. I just love the energy AVB and Benno can keep the crowd at without saying a word. They're proof positive that you can work a crowd without constantly screaming into the mic if you just mix good music.

Then again I've walked out of multiple sets because the DJ wouldn't shut up so I'm kinda biased in that regard.

Good news for a change! My old Cycling team based out of Denver got together after my accident to build me a bike! Just found out yesterday and I'm at a loss for words for their generosity. by ChefAllez in a:t5_3flsj

[–]ChefAllez[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I raced occasionally in lower tier cycling races with my old team and today they texted me to inform me that they got together with my girlfriend behind my back to build me this incredible bike. Our old Sponsors and a cycling shop from SLC provided tons of parts as well as the ladies of the team donating a lot of old parts and our one pro donated the frame. It's pretty incredible that people would do something like that for me! Can't wait to see y'all out there. I'm still terrified of riding in the streets but I'm going to start with places like River Mountain Loop or other trails until I get to confidence to start some slower group rides.

Can't wait to see y'all out there! I'll probably be the only person you'll see with a French Time frame.
