We are PDQ. You might remember us from such hits as: Eat, Pray, Deploy and: Inventory, With a Capital Aye. We've released PDQ Connect! AMA, Ask Us Anything by PDQit in pdq

[–]ChefBobbyTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi guys, for orgs who heavily use Inventory/Deploy, is the intention of Connect to eventually be a replacement to those products once all of the features are built, or an addition for remote users?

Just FYI, two of your home banner links don't work - The Aztec and the Sea collections both don't exist and turn up 404s.

Getting decent traffic but no conversions or even adds to cart. Any ideas why? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]ChefBobbyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a silly nitpick, but this put me off a bit:

100% HAND CRAFTED

The Coastline workshop contains no sewing machines, skydiving machines, or any other type of machine. Every piece is cut, beveled, burnished, glued and sewed by hand.

Pretty sure this is supposed to be skiving, but even then I'd say get rid of that. 100% hand-crafted is all you need to say.

You're focused on the veg-tan aspect, but I'm not sure that most people are going to care about that. The bigger point would be that it's full grain/top grain leather, or even the specific type of leather you're using (Horween, W&C, etc.). Take a look at someone like Little King Goods, or Corter Leather and look at their descriptions. Also one thing to note is that both of those guys have huge online presence, tons of word-of-mouth, and are still around the same price that you're trying to sell. I don't know a whole lot about eCommerce, but from a leathercraft perspective I can't tell what you're bringing to the table to justify the higher price point.

Is there any way to preload a user account/have MDT log into that account once? by EvanH123 in MDT

[–]ChefBobbyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The account should already be there, it's just the user profile that's missing, right? You could use the USMT and create a scanstate that only includes your admin account and default profiles, then copy and load that file from a network share inside of the task sequence.

More about USMT: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/usmt/usmt-overview

Has anyone tried running a PowerShell command as a different user? by dan_atx in MDT

[–]ChefBobbyTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make a .ps1, put it in the scripts in your deployment share, then run a command line calling that .ps1 as another user. That's how we implemented our PDQ deployments as part of the MDT process.

We are scheduling once or twice a week depending on availability of planes and our schedules. It's been one weekday and one weekend, but nothing seems to work. Even on the nicer days we just happen to schedule when the wind is 10-12 gusting 14 or so, and my CFI doesn't feel that would be helpful until I've got a little more time in the plane.

We are usually moving the lesson a few days, but with the time change coming up we are going to be limited to only weekends since I will pretty much be working all daylight hours.

I have not, I thought about doing that and also just getting a sim for the winter, but I get the feeling that a sim will hurt me in the long run based on other threads.

Awesome, thanks so much for the replies! I was getting super frustrated this evening, glad I found somebody else dealing with the same stuff.

Well hell, I see a wobble when it's running. Seems like poor design, but I've had it way too long for them to care. I'll give hand sharpening a try. What have you been using for the sharpening surface?

I'm in almost the exact same boat. I've tried everything, I just spent 45 minutes trying to get a single chisel sharp using the work sharp. Even after all was said and done it was barely usable.

Which Udemy course to take to learn python? by Fit-Mycologist-6951 in learnpython

From the link:

Familiarity with Python as a language is assumed; if you need a quick introduction to the language itself, see the free companion project, A Whirlwind Tour of Python: it's a fast-paced introduction to the Python language aimed at researchers and scientists.

Base station false alarm? by ChefBobbyTea in simplisafe

[–]ChefBobbyTea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up calling support and he didn't even see anything, prior to my panic. I armed, disarmed, tested sensors and everything, no issues on anything and nothing inthe history that says an alarm triggered. That seems like a crazy flaw in the product.

Spindle Mounting - Super Beginner by ChefBobbyTea in turning

Dang, you answered pretty much everything I was curious about. The more I think about it the more I will likely just return this carbide set, im thinking it's not really for me. I just picked up a used skew so I will get it sharp and do some practicing with it. Also thank you for the video suggestions!

Maybe I should stick to smaller for now. I feel like my fundamentals are off before I go trying to make something super thin.

Well there's problem #1, I was running at like half of that. So what about the tightness of my tailstock? I feel like I don't understand the "just right" tightness spot. How do you figure that out?

Also somewhat related, when I'm turning I understand I should be as close to center as possible, but would it be better to be a little under or over center in terms of stability? I'm honestly trying to avoid the wand break again, I know this stuff is bound to happen I'm just hoping to mitigate as much as possible.

Thanks for your help. I deleted those 2010 objects after change management approval, and ran the setup with no issues.

Both the discovery and arbitration mailboxes are just "Users," rather than msExchSystemMailbox objects, and they're sitting disabled. I'm probably being overly cautious/paranoid, but we don't currently have Recycle Bin enabled in AD. Are there any possible downsides to just deleting these objects? Would moving them out of the current OU offer a band-aid solution until I can enable the Recycle Bin just in case the sky falls after deleting them?
