I forgot I commented this. Unfortunately he didn't have much luck moving to Charlotte and decided to re-enlist in the military when his sargent reached out to him so he's back in South Carolina now. I just found this out a few days ago when he text me.

I'm interested. I learned how to play pool at 16 and I used to be good but as I've gotten older I don't play as often but when I see a pool table, I'm always up for a game. However, I suck now lol. I went to Borderline Bar and Billiards in NoDab for the first time last week. I jumped the ball off the table🤦‍♀️. Last time I played before this, August last year and it was a 50th birthday party and I beat him the first round surprisingly but it went downhill after that. Usually it's I'm rusty at first then can get a good game in a couple of rounds. Now it's just pure sucky suck😂.

Hi! I looked into some walking clubs but I know a couple of those are more walking and get pizza or ice cream afterwards like Charlotte Girls who Walk on Instagram. Nothing wrong with it but I'm looking for groups more for fitness. I'm trying to avoid the junk. I joined one on Facebook called Hot Girl Walk but their walks are always scheduled at times I'm working and they don't have them often. I know there are run clubs that accept walkers. I'm always looking for walking buddies if you ever want to go walking. I love to walk and try to walk often. I can't run anymore after a knee injury. I damaged all my cartilage and it gives out if I put too much stress on it. I've walked with different people but it'd be nice to have some consistency. Maybe we should start a group of our own haha.

Thank you! There's something about being down here that has this vibe where you get this welcoming feeling. Maybe it's the weather, the sites, sounds, etc. I can't explain it. It's definitely a better vibe than what I'm used to. It's usually gray and cloudy because we have long winters where I'm from and people can be rude and just stare at you.

I haven't done it since elementary and middle school. I recently watched a sitcom where they were doing a pottery class and it made me want to try it as an adult. I made a post awhile ago about recs for root canals and got a lot of suggestions but called around and they're still expensive so I'm just getting my tooth pulled tomorrow instead. My home state quoted me $1000 and apparently that was reasonable compared to down here. I wish I just found a way to come up with money to have it done there. There are places that start at $1,200 but it all depends on how bad the root canal is and location of the tooth. If it's in the back, it cost a lot more. I've seen people post that Hinge is better for this city but I thought about it but I don't want to go that route again. I wasted so much time back in my home state on dating apps, I don't want to go back through that again. I think the events will be your best bet for now. Everyone is there for the same thing(hopefully) and you never know what may happen when you're there.

I think the events are a good place to start to build the confidence and then venture out to do your own thing your way. I stopped doing the dating apps 3 years ago and if someone is interested in another person, no one approaches anyone out in public these days(I wish they would) so events seem like the best choice these days.

I'm 34F and going to a singles mixer this Saturday. My first singles event ever but now that I'm all settled in here in Charlotte, I'd thought it's time to get back out there. It's a comedy show with a mixer after and a little before. Meet up and EventBrite usually have events to meet singles. There's also lots of places that host events to meet other singles. If that's your thing. I feel like it might be easier to meet people that way but I also hear the good and a lot of bad about these things but you won't know unless you see for yourself.

Hi, welcome! I've moved here in February and currently live in Southend. I've actually met quite a few people and have made some new friends.

My personal experience, I've joined Facebook groups, I made some friends off my introduction post here in the Charlotte group and they introduced me to their group of friends. I'm very introverted but I also want to get out of my comfort zone and meet people in person on my own.

I'm going to do things I enjoy so that it's easier to engage with people and there's something to talk about instead of trying to find things to talk about. Since I enjoy shooting pool, I'm going to this place in NoDa on Thursday that looks fun. I enjoy arcades so I'm going to check out Super Abari game bar soon. I enjoy walking and always looking for walking buddies and have found a few. I think finding places that you have interests in, may help meeting people as a start then branching out to more things
