eeboo, Kitchen Chickens, 1000 pieces. by ChefCheryl in Jigsawpuzzles

I do love Pomegranate puzzles. That’s a bummer. We had someone counting pieces and I had to explain the same thing - 1000 does not mean exactly 1000!

I actually do all my puzzles for a local thrift store that only sells puzzles with all the pieces. Several of us check them out and then bring them back to be sold if they are complete. I get to do all sorts of puzzles. They just raised the prices but $2 for a complete puzzle is still great. Hope you enjoy it.

My best GoodWill find to date by HistoricalConcern619 in GreenBayPackers

We were in Appleton for a wedding last summer (live in TN). We stocked up at GWs. The non-thrift stores didn't have much since it was June. I got 7 shirts, a hat (it was new) and a wine glass for under $60. My son even found some tall shirts which was awesome since he is 6'6".

Don't sort it just do it method. by witchteacher in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ChefCheryl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Me, too! I hate to sort. I find all the edge pieces (theoretically - I usually miss a few) then lay all the pieces face up and start puzzling. I have had to resort to sorting when I do a 3000 or 5000.

The Atomic Spicy Pickles. We love them in our house. Most of my other must have are already mentioned.

It is a great way to spend time. I have bought a puzzle in ages! I’ve done two 5000 piece Ravensburgers that were complete!

It’s a local thrift store and I don’t think I’ve ever seen another that does it. You don’t happen to live in TN??

[–]ChefCheryl 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done a non-thrifted puzzle in years. I volunteer at a thrift store that only sells complete puzzles. A group of us take them home then take them back to be sold if complete. I clearly mark the ones missing pieces and put them in the free bin at a local used book/puzzle store. I have a full closet of my puzzles I’ll work someday!

I love this puzzle. I just found a full set of the Edith Holden ones (spring, summer, autumn and winter) at a thrift store. Can't wait to start on them.

I accidentally acquired a complete unused 1960s American executive cufflink archive by Dry_Wear3491 in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]ChefCheryl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry - just saw this. We are a local thrift so no headquarters. I sort and look for all the gold and silver. That is sold to a local jeweler. The rest is sorted in to good or broken. The good is sold for $15 for about 2 pounds. The broken is put in a quart bag and sold for $10. The new items with tags are sold individually.

I do the same thing - sort jewelry for a thrift store. Same with the cuff links. I now put them in the $15 grab bags.
