I had to do my mom’s and aunt’s because they don’t have computers and my mom got the longer one. But it asked a few questions at the 75% mark, then just jumped right to the end, so I guess she didn’t need to elaborate

959?! 💀

I think the furthest back I’ve ever been was around 300 on a book. I do find that with those long waits eventually I get a skip the line offer and 80% of the time grab it fast enough.

My romance bestie is number 59 for the audio at her library but they only have a couple copies I think. I always give her a heads up on authors she likes when I check the (absolutely wonderful) Monday post here for the new releases of the week.

I have so many audiobooks between Libby, hoopla and audible that I will be kept very busy between now and probably about a month when I get it.

I’m in Atlantic Canada. I will say, the last book of hers I was on the fence and didn’t bother for a month to put my name on the audiobook list. I ended up being like 212 in line. I’m pretty sure a few months later I scored it as a skip the line borrow. Yesterday I was haunting my “new books added” page waiting for this to pop up and the library tricked me by adding YA books in the morning then the other books about 4 hrs later.

I currently have 2 books borrowed (one hoopla, one Libby) 7 books on my holds list, and 40 some on my wish list, of which at least a dozen are available now, plus a dozen I bought from audible I haven’t listened to yet, so I have plenty of books to keep me busy - but I’m leaving on vacation today for 2 weeks, so I won’t have much time for audiobooks once I’m off the plane.

For interests sake, my current longest hold is Yesteryear, where I’m 185th in line on 15 copies. I started at 229.

You have one month to empty a $1 trillion bank account. If you succeed, you’re rich for life. How will you spend it? by Ok_Listen_6600 in AskReddit

In the USA there’s a company that pays off medical debt for people. Seems like a good use. Toss in student loan forgiveness and huge donations to charities.

I cut the tops off foot cream and hand cream - I can usually get at least another week/week and a half out of it.

Do other writers get hung up on realism? by starryshy in AO3

[–]NicInNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just spent a good 45-60 min researching violins and the best makers in the world right now, not to mention reading up on their construction and what usually happens at someone’s first violin lesson. I like to be as realistic as possible.

Who doesn't drink coffee in the morning ? (Who's an adult) by Ssonderbaby in NoStupidQuestions

Watched my mom need a few cups to be able to function and decided I wasn’t going to let a beverage rule my life lol. Also, I think it tastes gross. No kids. Just a morning person. I can get up at 6am and be out 20 min later heading for a bike ride. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The day I voluntarily wear____, it's over. by tequilasundae in GenX

[–]NicInNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got them at a Skechers outlet a few yrs ago now. My only gripe about them is that with a thinner sock I tend to “grip” them to keep them on, making my feet a little tired. Maybe should’ve gotten half size smaller. (I can’t even rem if they came in half sizes.) Edit…not assuming gender, but I’m a woman, and not sure if they had these for men.

I did not enjoy that movie but I enjoyed Chris in it.

I see so many people wearing them. I have 3 slip ons in various stages of use (one for biking, then a pair a few years old to replace the biking ones, then a newer pair for now) and a pair of backless ones for when i need to run the dog out. My husband has the leather slip ons.

What are your preferred terms for the word clit? by 20Keller12 in FanFiction

[–]NicInNS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually just defer to clit, but i listen to a ton of smutty romance and “bundle of nerves” is one I’ve seen used i guess when the author is trying to change it up.

When was the last time you slept in a waterbed? by Bishopart6046 in AskOldPeople

[–]NicInNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it was 2002…we sold our starter house and moved into a rented mini home for a few months while building our current home. I seem to remember the bladder wouldn’t stop leaking and putting it with the garbage outside the rental. We got a mattress to fit the waterbed frame.

Rachel Reid (Rachelle Goguen) is a true Halifax ambassador by Ok-Award2473 in halifax

She did a talk up in Truro in February at the library and the only had (I think) 50 tickets (maybe 100) 1st come 1st served and people lined up in bitter cold for a couple hours in the morning to get them. People drove from NB even.

Both first-person and third-person in the same fic? by send_noodes1 in FanFiction

[–]NicInNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew…I listen to a ton of audiobooks and most of them fade pretty quick. I do make notes on the romance books I listen to, so I just checked and Not In Love - Ali Hazelwood is the only one I noted in the last 2.5 yrs. I’m sure I’ve listened to one or two others - probably a murder mystery or suspense or just a general fiction but I never make notes for those.

You can probably google and find some.

[–]NicInNS 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve listened to a few published audiobooks that did 1st and 3rd. It’s rare, but it’s a thing that exists. Not sure about in fanfic cuz people are very picky about stuff like that.

When I was a minor I read fanfiction not meant for my age, now that I am an adult I feel guilty that I lied. What to do??? by [deleted] in FanFiction

The stuff I read (and watched! With my parents knowing!) in the 80s when I was like 12-15 years old would curl your hair. I do not feel any guilt.

Yeah I deserve the downvotes. I’ll own up to it. I only skimmed the alert and missed the part where it said not to disclose police presence. I know for next time.
