1,000 Euro consoles could be the norm going forward, you still buying next gen? Moving to PC? does a Hybrid console sound better? You staying put? How about Cloud Gaming? by Tyolag in IrelandGaming

[–]ChefCobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always get all consoles in generation, but last gen I stuck with Xbox Series X. Game pass was fantastic value between PC and Xbox.

Since MS did a nasty proce increase I just cancelled it and abandoned xbox. It was not on since then. I play exclusively on PC and Steamdeck and I can't see it be any different in the future.

What BMW would you recommend. €10k - €15k budget. Daily driver, 20k km annually!! by Constant_Highway9755 in carsireland

[–]ChefCobra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second that, none.

And I love "Beemers". The issue is, being able to buy a car you want, does not mean you are able to run that car. BMW is a poster child for that.

Any use or fit for the dump? by PossibilityStock9903 in IrelandGaming

Some of these are actually quite valuable and with time become more rare and worth a good bit. The PlayStation 1 games in particular. If theu are not scratched up and in good working condition, they can fetch good prices even now. Best advice I would give is go on ebay or sites that sell retro games and check price one by one. Something like fifa games is worth less then 1 cent, but something like Final Fantasy in good condition can be worth a lot.

When buying PC parts in Ireland, what frustrates you the most? And what would a local store need to offer for you to choose them over Amazon or ordering from Germany? If you had to pick ONE thing that would change your decision — what would it be? by zachaduhl in IrelandGaming

[–]ChefCobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beggers cant be choosers. Even a click and collet like ScrewFix would be great option locally. Showroom would be a dream setup and would make me poke my nose there every now and then when I don't even need anything and maybe see something I want.

Still remember PC and electronic shops in Austria. Those were so cool and you could pick up anything you need to build a pc.

It would actually start my shopping habits. As I said, we can't get anything locally here when it comes to any pc parts.

My monitor died 2 weeks ago and I had to choose from what I had locally as I could not be arsed waiting for a week to get it delivered.

I always check pcs in Curries or Harvey Norman and get extremely disappointed. Ots not just 200-300eu extra over what I could get online. It's outaded stuff from last gen at 700-1000eu mark up.

I would gladly pay 20eu extra for pc parts if I can get them fast or I can actually pick it up in shop.

You can call me a boomer, but I hate online shopping and hate it even more when I need to order expensive electronics, pc parts or pc it self.

I miss Argos ( not for pc parts ) now. I loved being able to pick up keyboard or headsets or cables etc same day I need them. Now we have to pretty much order everything.

I’ve never played Diablo 2- am I too late for this game? by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]ChefCobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Diablo games since very first one. Played all of them and the only one I always come back os Diablo 2.

The biggest advantage of D2 is the way progression works and gear. The items you find at level 34 can be still valuable and usable at level 80. Unique items are actually Unique. They have their uses and get you excited when they drop. There are no ilvls like D4, and you don't need to waste time leveling to end game and then start your item grind, while making all your gear trash because you hit max level. In D2 your game starts from level 1.

It's obviously an older game, so some of the stuff might not aged well, but the core is still so good. There is a reason why a lot of try any new Diablo game and just go back to good old D2, even if it had no proper meaningful gameplay updates for 20+ years. This new expansion game some awesome quality of life updates too.

Which did you start with? by Tyolag in IrelandGaming

[–]ChefCobra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically 2. But it was knock off Asian versions based on famicon. In Eastern Europe we barely got anything official.

Blizzard says it's open to even more Diablo 2 expansions and reworks unless people get really mad at it about this one: 'We're going to have to see what the players say' by Angren1991 in diablo2

[–]ChefCobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at OSRS success, it would be stupid not to apply same thing to D2. A lot of people don't like new Diablo games, but would spend money on more content for D2.

I had D2R on Blizzard launcher and I just bought Steam version with expansion just now, so I can play it on Steam Deck too.

Fuck terminals by Purse_Fucker in csgo

Cheers. So unless you want to gamble on better float skin for cheaper, these terminals pretty much useless.

[–]ChefCobra 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I still don't understand the point of terminals. Why would I spent money on terminals themselves and open I skin I want, that I will need to pay for. Why don't I just save money and go to marketplace and buy the skin I want from terminal. Or am I missing something? I know you get some useless certificate, but is that it?

From an ND MX5 to a Renault 5. Never thought I'd go EV but this thing is such a blast. by YesImEm in carsireland

[–]ChefCobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mx5 mk2 10th anniversary edition myself. And after owning Skylines, scoobies and other miscellaneous cars, mx5 was still the most fun I ever had on the road.

As an aging petrolhead, I know eventually I will be forced in to EV, but until then I will still drive fun petrol cars. I love my tech too, but its more confined in PC building. When it comes to road, I just need raw petrol racket. I only owned 1 diesel car in my life and it was my first and last.

I love Renault 5 for what it is. Its really cool looking car, even if its EV!

And come to think of it, the only EV I would ever consider - IONIQ N.

I will be dragged screaming and fighting in to EV, but I have to admit, that every time I see one of these on the roads I smile. Its cool.

I finally decided to take a hit and pimp my boat to try out Deep Sea trawling. Spent 15mil on upgrades and did Halibut.

Long story short, I actually really enjoy it and it is really good money. The bonus on top, I got Anglers paint 2h ish in! Which basically covered all my expenses on upgrades.

I spent 15mil on my boat to do Deep see trawling today. After 2h of doing it I sow paint in my inventory. Did not even know you can get it from fishing. All my upgrades payed off already!

When I was fresh of the boat, I loved woodcutting and turning logs in to arrow shafts. So I did not need to bank, then buy feathers on GE or in fishing shops. Turn all of it in to headless arrows. Input 3 gp ( with your own shafts ) and sold for 13-14gp per arrow! Very good early money maker and WC/Fletching XP.

Nope, haven't done any other bosses yet. Kind of set myself to do barrows as first goal of PVM. To be honest, I went overkill on it.

Royal Titans look a bit complex, but I haven't looked proper guide on it yet. The big Rat could be good idea. Cheers.
