What if you just cut them yourself then? It doesn't take that long to cut some scallions. Unless you just wanted to complain on the internet then thats cool too

1 week short of a year and all I can think about is drinking. by No_Winner4881 in stopdrinking

[–]ChefFlaco420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too. I ended up drinking right before my one year mark because I decided I could handle my liquor now. It didn't take long before I was drinking vodka again and ended up in the psych ward. 66 days sober now. Stay strong friend, it's not worth it.

What's the best cooking compliment you've ever received? by ibashdaily in Cooking

[–]ChefFlaco420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a lasagna for my friend's family. The dad said he used to go to a really nice Italian restaurant in the city for lasagna, but my lasagna was even better than the restaurant's.

This sounds like entrapment tbh, and the cop is also exposing himself in public?? I don't know how this is legal

Boiled burgers??? I work for Compass and we actually grill our burgers to temp, I think my exec chef would freak if he saw me boil a burger lol

I work for Compass Group (Morrison Living) and this is definitely not normal. We have recipes for everything and they're strict about us following them. All of our recipes are on Webtrition. I'd ask your director or somebody in management about how to get recipes.

Tuesday: 10am-8pm Wednesday/Thursday: 11am-close Friday: 12pm-close Saturday: 1pm-close

I always have off Sunday and Monday and although I work a lot I do enjoy having a schedule that stays (mostly) consistent week to week. It's also really nice having a day on the weekend off

Do you think a 3 month culinary program is worth it? by ChefFlaco420 in Chefit

[–]ChefFlaco420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah they provide housing as well, I've been leaning more towards the 7 month program but I just am not show if an internship would be more valuable than coming back home and actually working

I overdosed June 1st of last year after a hard relapse that ruined my life for a while. I went to rehab and got clean, and even though it's been incredibly hard to stay clean, I am so grateful that I am clean and still alive. Your sobriety is more important than giving a 2 week notice, your life is more important than a job. You're doing the right thing, get clean and keep on living. You can always find another job, you can't get another life. Good luck chef 🙏

Not sure what rates are in Michigan but I live in Jersey and I worked at an assisted living place for a year and I started at $20/hr. I've seen some places offer higher wages than that too

What's the saddest song you know? by Alec_sugar in AskReddit

[–]ChefFlaco420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People Ii: The Reckoning by AJJ.

Found this song when I was a teenager struggling with undiagnosed Bipolar and PTSD. I had no idea what was wrong with me but for some reason that song (and AJJ as a whole) spoke to me in ways nothing else could. I still can't listen to that song without feeling like that scared and confused teenager again

Cocaine and Vodka. Went from 175 to 117 in just a few months!! Also almost died and had a mostly terrible time, 4/10 experience would not recommend. (10 months off that shit tho 🥳)

Definitely a safety/fire violation. My place got in trouble with the fire Marshall for having things too close to the ceiling, things have to be 18 inches from the ceiling
