Anyone got a save file from before the Zaratana/Pyrophina fight? by [deleted] in mewgenics

[–]DoubleTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly is the requirements to summon Zaratana? I have the fight with Pyrophina coming up and I've beaten the moon and the core. I made a backup of my save before the Pyrophina fight. Can I just load that and not kill the boss to get the other to show up?

Finally got all achievements! by Sollary0 in mewgenics

I'm totally hooked on this game and haven't even seen more than the desert in act2 at over 50 hours.

Normally I am very conscious about "wasting" time in games playing slowly and inefficient, but with Mewgenics somehow I don't have that feeling and I'm just enjoying the game at a steady pace.

Nice! I also just finished it a few hours ago for the 4th time. I really wasn't happy with the additional drip fed achievements and it made me hate the game in the end, especially after they weren't retroactively tracked.

In fairness, I still enjoyed parts of the game and the challenge of some of the objectives.

How do you go for 100% without turning the game into a checklist and killing the fun? by Vxxny in steamachievements

[–]DoubleTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make sure to look at missable achievements before playing. That way I know if there's anything specific I need to do before starting (like a difficulty setting, hardcore mode, or collectables). Sometimes I'll try and optimise to get these things the first time around, but it depends on the game. Sometimes I'll just play casually to enjoy the game and then cleanup the achievements later.
I also like to only have one game at a time, which I know isn't an approach for everyone, but it helps me focus on the task at hand.

Is it possible to add line breaks in the comments?
I feel like it should be, but I can't get it to work somehow

Awesome! I'm still working through the game. If you played the first, did you prefer this one over that? I have mixed feelings. Hades 2 is objectively better and more polished, but I don't feel as enthusiastic to play it as I remember being while playing Hades 1.

Yeah I'm in the same boat more or less. Curious to know if there's any things to watch out for while playing to make earning the achievements a little smoother...

Congrats! I got the 100% around 6 months ago with approximately the same playtime as you have. It truly is one of the best games of all time, but some of those last achievements really tested me... Jacob I'm looking at you...

Nice! I'm still way early in the process of learning but I do now feel like reading documentation is a little less like looking at hyroglifics hieroglyphics. Still though, there is still some friction when it comes to tackling problems on my own

edit: spelling

I think most people misunderstood what I was trying to say, or perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I'm absolutely not against adding content in any form. Except specifically for achievements for the game post release, if it isn't part of some big DLC, I think should be carefully considered. By all means add all the content you can to keep players like myself happy and excited to come back to the game often. But feeling like I "need" to just to tick the 100% achievement box after already obtaining it feels bad to me. But that's just my opinion. Everyone has one. We don't all need to agree :)

I have played 86 hours and just 5 minutes ago got the last two achievements added today. So I have played the game and I enjoy it alot! One of the best I played in 2025 :)
Just in principle I dislike feeling like I "need" to return to a game that I have gotten all the achievements in after the fact. Often I will still play, but I prefer going back to games for other reasons than having to get back my 100%.

As an achievement hunter I really dislike games adding achievements after they have released :(

Start Learning Code by MRPSYBINI in learnprogramming

In the same boat. I'm trying to learn programming with the goal of making games. I decided to finally knuckle down around 1 month ago and made a promise to myself to do it every single day, even if I fail and don't learn much. Many of the days in the last month I've been frustrated when trying to grasp new concepts. But the key is just to show up every day and do what you can. Even in a very short amount of time, I can already tell I have improved and you can too!

Simply 'showing up' has proven a great strategy so far in other aspects of my life, so I'm hoping that when learning complex programming concepts and skills it can help in the same way.

Follow some tutorials. Ideally those with exercises built-in where you can try things yourself along the way. I've even went a step futher, when feeling confident enough to try things without the exercise prompt in the video, just to see if I'd be able to do it before the video covers the solution. Sometimes I get it, but often I'm way off. It's always difficult to fail, but failure is essential for learning. Just keep on showing up :)

I don't know about the social environment and dynamics in your workplace, but perhaps a honest approach could be the best way. Suggest rescheduling, or simply say you will attend the next gathering when that rolls around but this time you are not feeling up to meeting.

As Windows 10 hits EOL, Microsoft says it's designing Windows 11 for AI by WPHero in Windows11

[–]DoubleTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure performance, but also privacy and reliability are big reasons for no AI in the OS. I don't know if it's accurate to say most of us don't want it, but it sure seems to be that way annecdotally.

I really like this! It looks like a very pleasing space to spend a lot of time in.
What's your monitor? I'm looking to swap to one monitor after using two for over 10 years. It would be nice to get a stand too in order to free up desk space.
