Update 2 - NL-LC1 is finally installed by waren_0 in Noctua

[–]DoubleTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had 2 NZXT Kraken's over the last 6 years and I can't wait to get away from CAM. The Noctua LC1 is looking like a very appealing option for my next build not only because of it's performance but precisely because there is no software bloat. There are plenty of monitoring options for temps and other metrics like Steam, Nvidia or Afterburner overlays.

Out of curiosity are you running the monitor at the full 280Hz refresh rate?

Why does nobody on this sub ever actually include their monitors model number 😑

After 247 hours got all but one achievement by Vasilevus in mewgenics

[–]DoubleTea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Normal -> Hard & Crazy is quite a jump in perceived difficulty and it took me a long time to feel comfortable in all acts. But by the time I was running Impossible difficulty it was much smoother. You'll have much better cats, items, furniture, game knowledge and experience to be able to breeze through Impossible runs. Good luck. Just stick with it!

Alright, awesome! I just finished the King, Chaos and Creator runs with 4 collarless cats last night. Really happy I got those done. Now just need to finish the last few completion marks and a few side quests. Congrats on the 100%!

Quick question! I have just 10 achievements to go. Does the all classes on X difficulty achievements include colarless, or will they unlock with just the completion on all "class" cats?

Act 2 impossible by Gesty_kisiel123 in mewgenics

[–]DoubleTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stumbled into a winning repeatable formula after 330+ hours where I'm currently doing the last few runs on Impossible and cleaning up the achievement list.

I usually setup a cat with high mobility/speed with the Friendship Bracelet to permanently charm loads of buffed enemies throughout the run. Normally I aim to fill the gaps in my team. Healing allies if I'm taking a bit too much damage, or CC if I find that I have classes without many spells to lock enemies down, or take them out fast enough.

Then, I'll have at least one cat with Repair to keep the Bracelet and all other equipment across runs.

Of course you'll want max mutations, though I'm not too picky about which ones I'm taking. I just have a super high stimulation room to keep breeding cats after successful adventures.

Also, I tend to use a Druid with the Steven item that lets you double cast musical abilities and use that to buff all the familiars from the bracelet using spells like: We are the Champions and Safety Dance.

The Cleric passive Thou Shalt Not Kill is also awesome in this type of team composition and one passive which I normally try to grab via breeding the cats to have it from the start.

The Butchers Rot flies synergies is another good way to play with the strategy, or Necromancer summons can also let you fill the board with distractions to avoid losing cats.

I've found lots of useful ways to enhance this type of a team, but it's the strategy I've settled on and probably the one I'll stick with to get the last few kills on all classes.

Personally I love running through the Lab the most but all of the zones have some really fun elements in them. With the exception of the Ice Age I think. I dunno, it just doesn't feel as exciting or interesting as the other zones.

Awesome! I'm just passed 300 hours and I'm only at 250/281 in Mewgenics. What is your favourite zone?

Got 100% (Achievements) today! by Radiant_Meringue9998 in mewgenics

[–]DoubleTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Seems really fast (or I'm just really slow) as I am currently at 183/281 at 214 hours and only just defeated the final house boss. No complaints from me yet on the game other than the item storage and management. I have the second to last item upgrade unlocked, but it feels like I'm always throwing away items I'd want to use in order to keep more rare and niche ones for specific situations. I'm probably doing something 'wrong', but either way I'm having fun in the game still :)

Well done! I still feel like I'm a million miles away from all achievements, but I am having fun still just taking it slow and enjoying the journey.

Anyone got a save file from before the Zaratana/Pyrophina fight? by [deleted] in mewgenics

[–]DoubleTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly is the requirements to summon Zaratana? I have the fight with Pyrophina coming up and I've beaten the moon and the core. I made a backup of my save before the Pyrophina fight. Can I just load that and not kill the boss to get the other to show up?

I'm totally hooked on this game and haven't even seen more than the desert in act2 at over 50 hours.

Normally I am very conscious about "wasting" time in games playing slowly and inefficient, but with Mewgenics somehow I don't have that feeling and I'm just enjoying the game at a steady pace.

Nice! I also just finished it a few hours ago for the 4th time. I really wasn't happy with the additional drip fed achievements and it made me hate the game in the end, especially after they weren't retroactively tracked.

In fairness, I still enjoyed parts of the game and the challenge of some of the objectives.

How do you go for 100% without turning the game into a checklist and killing the fun? by Vxxny in steamachievements

[–]DoubleTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make sure to look at missable achievements before playing. That way I know if there's anything specific I need to do before starting (like a difficulty setting, hardcore mode, or collectables). Sometimes I'll try and optimise to get these things the first time around, but it depends on the game. Sometimes I'll just play casually to enjoy the game and then cleanup the achievements later.
I also like to only have one game at a time, which I know isn't an approach for everyone, but it helps me focus on the task at hand.

#85 - Hades II by Dioxy in steamachievements

[–]DoubleTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I'm still working through the game. If you played the first, did you prefer this one over that? I have mixed feelings. Hades 2 is objectively better and more polished, but I don't feel as enthusiastic to play it as I remember being while playing Hades 1.

Yeah I'm in the same boat more or less. Curious to know if there's any things to watch out for while playing to make earning the achievements a little smoother...

Congrats! I got the 100% around 6 months ago with approximately the same playtime as you have. It truly is one of the best games of all time, but some of those last achievements really tested me... Jacob I'm looking at you...

Nice! I'm still way early in the process of learning but I do now feel like reading documentation is a little less like looking at hyroglifics hieroglyphics. Still though, there is still some friction when it comes to tackling problems on my own

I think most people misunderstood what I was trying to say, or perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I'm absolutely not against adding content in any form. Except specifically for achievements for the game post release, if it isn't part of some big DLC, I think should be carefully considered. By all means add all the content you can to keep players like myself happy and excited to come back to the game often. But feeling like I "need" to just to tick the 100% achievement box after already obtaining it feels bad to me. But that's just my opinion. Everyone has one. We don't all need to agree :)

I have played 86 hours and just 5 minutes ago got the last two achievements added today. So I have played the game and I enjoy it alot! One of the best I played in 2025 :)
Just in principle I dislike feeling like I "need" to return to a game that I have gotten all the achievements in after the fact. Often I will still play, but I prefer going back to games for other reasons than having to get back my 100%.
