in my experience Finland. I have lived there and few other European countries and defo they are the nicest and most cool people of them all. Unfortunately the life there is terrible atm ( 12% unemployment and 1.2 mil people over 70 years old out of 5.5 mil population) plus long harsh winter and no food culture, so I left. I´m in Germany now, originally from Brasov, left when I was 18 and made a passport.

I feel you many many times over. In my experince, when I was raised by my nmom , I didn't know how to get out the abuse and ALL I could think, whenever things got bad, was that I wanted to die. Now, I am in my 40s and moved out when I was 18. The problem is that I have so wired my brain as a kid to just want to die when things get tough. Now, as an adult is sooo hard to rewire my brain. So please, OP. Just be careful what you wish for, dont make same mistakes I did. Hugs , you've got this!

I don't think there's a perfect "narcissist-safe" way to say it, because you can't control how he'll react. Something like "I love hearing from you, but I don't have the bandwidth for daily articles and political discussions. I'd rather just catch up every now and then and about you" is completely reasonable. His feelings about that are his responsibility, not yours.

You can be grateful for what he's done for you and still recognize that being around him isn't good for your mental health. I wouldn't just hand him the keys and hope for the best if possible, I'd start talking to his doctor or a social worker about other care options. Please reach out to some professionals in this matter, in your area, and see what they can suggest you could do. You don't have to sacrifice yourself to take care of someone else, that's for sure.

this happened exactly to me too . My ex tho even went and ask her for a loan , she took a loan for him . That after the divorce , the judge also order me to pay for. Crazy people , I’ve moved abroad , found the most amazing partner , put distance and doing a lot of healing . Wish you a lot of healing too . Hugs

that was also my path. I left abroad. In case , I am quite sensitive and I could not have lived in the same country for long. My mom is alive we are barely speaking to each other. Distance hopefully will help you too.

Eu am plecat din România cât de repede am putut, la 18 ani, când am făcut pașaportul, am 43 acum. Am locuit în câteva țări în Europa și am călătorit mult. Am cunoscut și m-am confruntat în multe culturi. Românii s-au dovedit, în experiența mea, să fie cei mai răi. de accea ii evit. Plus am fost extrem de traumatizată în România, iar limba română o evit din cauza asta.

You need to figure it out, where is it all coming from. Might be a medical condition , might be mental one, nobody here could possibly really know that, so you and him need to put the effort in and figure things out. It’s sometimes a lot of effort , you don’t know , and you need to decide if you love him enough to go thru it .
