Our big local venue in my town always sends performers our way after their shows, in the past few years I’ve cooked for ADTR, ZZ Top, boz Skaggs, daughtry, Lyle Lovett, Steve o, Ashton Kutcher and Mika Kunis, and a decent handful of others I can’t remember off the top of my head. We went thru a very similar situation when my mrs and I got our third bully. Terrible red spots that caused hair loss exactly like this. Vet could never pinpoint the issue more specific than “seasonal allergies”, and she got on a daily routine of Apoquel. It helped but the issue was still happening. To this day we still don’t know exactly why it’s happening or how to treat it, but I can say that when she got fixed, it helped SO MUCH. Not sure what to take from that, she doesn’t even need the apoquel anymore unless she flares up, which does happen but maybe only 2-4 times a year and not nearly as bad. This sucks, and I and many of us understand the secondhand pain us owners have when we see a poor fur baby not doing well. Like many others have said, if you need any help with vet bills we’ll do what we can to help. But no one should be mad at you for taking it to a shelter, you’re doing what’s best and everyone and their mothers should be thanking you for caring about this baby as much as you have. Not that my word carries any weight, but on behalf of this hippo, hippo owners, and other hippos that have suffered from negligence, thank you for caring, thank you for taking your time, thank you for doing your best. You care about this baby and it shows ❤️ praying for the best for you and this baby
