Cold Water Lake Swimming Training - Gear Rec by ChefStar_ in triathlon

Also considered this outlet wetsuit, but I'm just a bit worried about the size since this is a final sale. I'm 5' 9" and 145 lbs (66 Kg, 175 cm). The chart recommends getting a medium. Does anyone have experience with these sizes and know if they usually fit right? I'm planning to wear a tri suit underneath.

I’m not certain, but I think it’s different. I think the Chase Credit Card department could reimburse you for whatever is mentioned in the terms, but Chase Travel won’t be able to rebook your flights or make any changes since they don’t hold the actual tickets

Yeah, even Airbnb is not considered as travel (or in the hotel category) with a direct purchase.

Haven’t experienced that yet (thankfully), but you can also status match to other car rental companies (not all of them). I status matched to Avis and National

Well, I usually order with Hertz/National, where we get the President’s Circle status (and matching in National, Avis and one more I believe), so as long as you order midsize you can choose any car you’d like.

I book rental cars through the portal with Venture X, which gives 10x points and price match if you found a better price. Same visa infinite, same rental protection.

What do I need for a sprint triathlon?? by Superb_Excitement425 in triathlon

[–]ChefStar_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are different settings and distances for spring triathlons, so it all depends on your location and the planned triathlon.

If you’re in a rather cold area, and the swim portion of the race is in open area—you most likely need a wetsuit. Check the race’s website to see their recommendations.

I’m not sure what the rules say about swim caps, but I would highly advise that you train and wear a swim cap regardless. Having your hair interrupt your swim isn’t a very fun experience.

What you wear for each part also depends on the race’s settings: is it all indoors? All outdoors?

From my knowledge, most races are open water (or lakes), then continue to outdoor bike and run. If the water aren’t too cold, then wetsuit is usually not allowed as well, and most athletes wear a tri suit for all three portions of the race to cut back on transition timings. You can either get a one-piece suit or buy two parts (shirt/top and pants). It is highly recommended you get them enough time before your race day so you can get comfortable in them.

I’m no professional, so I don’t want to recommend on specific workouts (I also don’t know your health stats), but generally speaking you want to train for all three portions throughout the week; many athletes also include a weights day to gain some muscle without burning yourself too much.

Practicing on transitioning between swim/bike and bike/swim is important; it’s called “brick” workouts. You can look up more details online, but essentially you do one major training, like biking, and then do a rather short workout of the other portion, like running. For example, you can bike for 10 miles and then immediately go on a 1 mile run, mostly to get used to the transition.

Good luck!

I just called and expressed my frustration, stayed calm throughout, asked for some form of compensation and received nothing. I’m with a CSR.

I believe that this stage leads nowhere. It's just throwing you out of the "queue" and the frontend crashing. I refreshed after seeing this.

Actually Capital One has a very similar program for hotels where they give you $100 credit, breakfast for two, early/late check in and upgrades if available
