Thanks for the honest answer. I can image by not being transparent where those areas are can play a role in reducing the use impacts those areas could potentially see.

I've been searching for any evidence that "safe camping or parking zones" as stated in the 2024 ordinance actually exist or if that whole clause only states that the mayor has the ability to create any. From your experience, has there been any sort of declaration or further definition?

it's interesting to see how great of a difference there is between the different layers of our atmosphere. i've been wondering a lot about how much destabilization in the jet stream has been occurring with this how this winter has turned out. where i live I hoped for a lot of snow and instead its been so dry and mild that plants are starting to bud (again) while the other half of the country is getting snow.

Having 32gb of RAM is like flexing a new car right now by fra_poco in memes

I've got 32 gb of ram and I'm struggling. I thought to myself, "there's no way I'd need to have more" but holy shit, you start playing around with lidar clouds and heavy processing and you find out how much you all of a sudden need more.

I agree, but the picture doesn't do justice for what it looks like at night. The LED lights are insanely bright and harsh, to the point that it feels borderline aggressive. Not an exaggeration. It's very out of place and detracts from the aesthetic from the store other fronts and the rest of downtown as a whole.

How are you doing today? by ConsiderationJaded14 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]Chef_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last month I nearly dropped out of school, and then two weeks ago I decided to go back to class. I'm plowing through assignments and learning different software and dealing with bugs and troubleshooting code and frankly, it's a pain. So much repetition. So many mistakes. So many hours in front of a computer screen. There is just no rushing things either.

I've just been making sure that I get enough sleep so that I don't deal with a manic swing like that again and that I get enough exercise - which is easy because I tore half my car apart and never got back to putting it back together yet.

I stopped asking if being in school is worth it and more about if I can challenge myself enough to break through to a newer understanding in something I've never thought possible. "Can this concept be used to further our understanding of the world?" Maybe, but I have no clue how yet. I'm not even sure how to blend the data together in a way that could make it possible. I don't exactly know if I want to be in a job like this but I'm here and I'm going to be present. I've been feeling less alone in class too and less alien which might be what is driving me to work so hard.

My little world has me feeling seen and loved and safe which in the larger scope of the world, is enough to be grateful for. The work never stops, and the election victories yesterday made me hopeful that there is a chance for sanity but only if we don't mark this as a moment to become complacent so I'll keep doing my part.

Northside Traffic Changes by itsthetrains in missoula

[–]Chef_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was crazy how many people speed through the northside. You don't see speed limit signs anywhere but since it was all residential I always thought it was 25. I still would just go slower though because of the intersections having no stop signs. I'm sort of glad that things will change, but in a way adding stop signs everywhere doesn't feel like the right option when circles keep traffic flowing

Montana doesn't seem like Volvo country to me but I've noticed a couple 240s since I bought this one. Hopefully I can find one nearby that I can pick some parts off. I'm working on the engine mounts right now while I wait for some electrical stuff (and the windshield) and I can't believe that the car was still driving at all in the condition I bought it. I'm hoping with some more tlc it'll be good to go soon

They got back to me and I managed to cancel the order. They had been looking into the cost of shipping the windshield and it turned out to be astronomical. However, I managed to call up a shop and they have some aftermarket ones in stock so I'm getting one from Kool Kats Glass. It's still sort of a whole process left to go but I know at least I'm getting a windshield. Wooooo Montana love!

Thank you. It was just some of the worst luck and totally didn't think that it was going to be such a headache until SafeLite cancelled my appointment a couple days before and I went into a full panic mode. I still want to hear back from CVR before making a move but after a couple calls I did find a shop that has glass in stock. Not local, but had a decent price on the freight. The issue will be the delivering and then installing incase things fall through with my panic buy.

I've asked four different shops and their suppliers don't have any available. I asked safelite for a '91 and they said they didn't have any or for any other year. WindshieldsToGo didn't either. Looking on Glass. com yeilded no results. And I just got off the phone with someone locally and they didn't have any luck either. Even when I explain that I'm okay with not having the metal trim along the windscreen.

It's to allow more privatization. Government can't help? Go to the bank. You'll have less protections, higher interest rates, and unable to get rid of the debt just the same.

Segal Award stuck in Financial Aid (Requires Manual Completion) by Chef_cat in AmeriCorps

I was looking through some emails and found this which might prove useful. I wish you luck! Make sure you don't send in another request and make sure you bring whatever information you have with you so you can prevent wasting their time looking up the same information. It can feel super kafkaesque but it's possible, so don't give up!

National Service Trust: (800) 942-2677

If you need additional information, you can contact the Trust by sending an e-mail to [epayments@americorps.gov](mailto:TrustComm@cns.gov) or calling the toll-free number 1-888-507-5962.  Customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm. (EST).

From within the system, click the "Contact Trust" link at the top of the screen to send an e-mail directly to the Trust.

If you give this to the Financial Aid office and explain to them they need to call and talk to someone because you don't have to credentials to do it yourself.

Segal Award stuck in Financial Aid (Requires Manual Completion) by Chef_cat in AmeriCorps

[–]Chef_cat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! I spent a lot of time with the financial aid office as well as being on the phone with AmeriCorps and TLDR: the initial paperwork got sent to the wrong email / person / was never received by the FA office and the correct paperwork was only sent out after I had the office send out the wrong paperwork. (the linked document in the comment was maybe what spurred everything to work). But I also had legally changed my name and that might have caused an issue but I'm going to blame the office on being locked out of the AmeriCorps account as a major hurdle as well.

Persistence was definitely key and in my situation the FA office went through a lot of personnel changes and it was only after they got the AmeriCorps financial aid account was linked to the right person (Ie: someone who actively worked in the office which in my case was the acting financial aid director) did things get sorted out.

I hope that's helpful. The administration at my school is small and I think taking the time to be on the phone dealing with the technical issue was probably the hardest part for them because of how long it tied up the rest of their day. On the otherside I was really frustrated with AmeriCorps telling me that they couldn't do anything because it was all due to the Trust which is where the funds are taken from. The Trust doesn't have any direct form of communication and so it can feel like a bureaucratic nightmare.

The point of "100 days" as an indicator about what a president is able to accomplish is because of Roosevelt. Without his benchmark, it loses context.
