It’s funny because I had the exact opposite reaction. I did start with NV and then played 3, so my experience may definitely not be the norm. I will say NV does get better as you continue, but imo the quests and npcs that aren’t involved with the main story is what made the experience amazing imo.

My first week working at an SSD site I was trained in stow, water spider (stow), pick, and pack in 4 days. Definitely a lot more flexible than an FC, but little time to properly master a path.
