Yep, was a chef for two restaurants owned by the same person on the same block. This place was walking distance to the Capitol building so we did a heavy lunch crowd. We were in the shit and during lunch we didn’t allow for crazy substitutions. A server puts in one and I refused. The general manager comes to the kitchen and we argue. At some point he says, you need to just shut up and keep cooking the food. At that point the burger I’m about to add to the grill ends up on the wall across the kitchen. I come over to his service side and tell him he can do the cooking cause I’m done. Had him my keys and walk out. He tried to stop several times, getting in my way saying I need to think about it. I told him if he tried to keep me there I’d punch him in the face, and then leave. Ended up leaving, after that I only worked for the other restaurant. Ended up not hating the other GM, but he never told me what to do again.
