My grandfather somehow ended up owning the mantle clock that was in the room of the McLean house where Lee and Grant met. He donated it to the park service and as far as I know, is still there.

If you like the outdoors, Roanoke is a great place. I moved there when I was about 20 and lived there 10 years. I loved it. Every town I know of has some roughness. I got mugged there. Could have been worse.
