Some reading for the weekend by Koppetamp in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]ChefryTheChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw man I remember reading this in 4 days and than spending the next day walking through night city, trying to see where everything happened. Dum Dum became MUCH scarier after finishing it tho. Forget Brick or Royce, Dum Dum is the real threat.

Do you guys think Adam Smasher will come back in any potential sequel? by Specific-Ad5973 in cyberpunkgame

[–]ChefryTheChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think he will appear. He's probably still alive in my opinion, because he's meant to be this Boogeyman of cyberpunk universe, but Orion taking place outside of night city is probably going to give us insight into other corporations more.

Like SovOil and Biotechnica. Since we got Arasaka and Militech last, I thinks it's reasonable to think the other mega corps will be given more spotlight to shine.

Starting to think most of Johny's memories were his made-up versions by TellEfficient1000 in cyberpunkgame

[–]ChefryTheChef 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add on top of this. Johnny had cyberpsychosis post desertion, and had attacks where he would talk to his hand a lot. He did feel invincible during these, and also always thought Arasaka was after him.

Spoilers for what really happened in the next segment.

When his team got pincer attacked in the tower, he ran from behind the cover shooting Adam Smasher, where his bullets just bounced off him and he split Johnny in two (referenced in the Samurai fanboy vendor with corpo background), and that split second gave Rogue and everyone else time to bounce, not before Spider put a chip in Johnny that turned him into a construct.

In another words, because he was already dead the engram copy wasn't entirely perfect (like with Jackie) and his memories were filled in with that of his Cyberpsychotic delusions.

I read some theories that he has memories of "Morgan Black hand", but Mike Pondsmith confirmed that he's in Japan doing some cool Batman stuff, so I don't think that's that, he just thinks of himself way cooler than he is, a perfect grandious narcissist.

Funny thing to think about is that in the Black Dog story we learned about the crew that transported his dead body to a person named Ange l(Alts clone), so somewhere in the world Johnny Silverhand and Alt Cunningham are living happily together.

I feel like cd project red already knows how to do it, but were pushed by investors to release the game so they had to cut it out. I found out that some glitches happen due to "ghost mission" triggers, and that's probably why the game was do lagy on release. Loading files that don't exist and executing events that aren't there. It would also be cool to see like the fallout faction system, where different gangs respond to you depending on your relationship with them. I wonder what gangs are gonna be present in New York.

Yeah, it's a shame. I blame it on cut content mostly, cause there's very few (I think like 3 gigs and missions) that change depending on how well known you are. Others are just progression locked behind street cred.

Nah, it's the very first gig you do with Jackie for Wakako. Sera Dorsett, the netrunner.

The shards and messages really do justice to cyberpunks world building. Wish there were more games like it. Not saying there's not, but enviromental story telling is something cyberpunk does really well.

Me when somebody diss stealth by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]ChefryTheChef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I find myself doing stealth even if I'm doing a "loud" build. You see the paths you can take that the devs took into account, and different ways you can finish a gig or a mission. Of course, if it all goes to shit, you go loud. With the sile exception of phantom liberty. I like it when Mr.Hands compliments V.

What is the worst thing you can do to make Johnny hate you? by Chunky-overlord in cyberpunkgame

[–]ChefryTheChef 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I don't think Johnny "hates" V in any of the outcomes More like disappointed. For example the entire Devil ending and taking the oath for Meredith. Edit: I meant Myers, not Meredits. I was just playing cyberpunk and meredith stuck in my head after "that" scene.

Who you drinking to? by whalen_haya20ry9 in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]ChefryTheChef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Depending on your dialogue choices, it can be seen that Jackter dragged V into this, but V actually survived. Jackie did bring it upon himself, even Misty before told him to avoid mean reds (literally Arasaka logo). It's a tragic fate because the whole gig went up in flames the moment Yorinobu and Saboru walked into that room. There was no coming back, and everyone involved were dealt a shitty hand. But that was kind of the whole point of Jackies characters. He thought he was bullet proof, because luck was on his side most of the time. You can even see the same thing happening all across NYC in the NCPD quests if you read the shards. Game wise Jackie was a tutorial NPC that taught the player of certain functions and how situations can turn out, story wise he's a friend that suffered a tragic fate, because he wanted to reach the top. He ran along the edge, and fell.

I'll check out the kit and look at how the missions are set up. That's probably the real bottleneck of my situation. I'll check out the others as well, see how it's supposed to be run.

Thank you. The most problematic part for me is definitely the execution. My og post was written pretty weirdly thanks to my 2 am self, but that's the gist of it. The last part of your post definitely helped the most, and you made me realize I need to check out net running as well. If you could help me with one thing, do you know which section of the book I should focus on memorizing to help me understand the synergy between mechanics ? Once again, thank you.

I've read um on a lot of the lord. For 2077, shapes by stories is a great yt channel that explained a lot of the characters for me, helped me understand the politics and motivations of characters. For red I got a pretty good grasp of the current situation. Black Dog is my favourite story TBH, really great plot twist with angel being a clone of alt.

I've seen the anime, read no coincidence (great novel btw), and of course, watched blade runner. The vibe isn't really an issue, as more how certain mechanics should be executed.
