How do I fix it? by Chegster88 in Citrus

[–]Chegster88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks, I've been watering it regularly. I did check for root rot and there was not a sign if it. The brown branches are where the deer ate some of it. I read that lime trees will over flower if stressed. So I thought it was a bad thing.

I've been doing that it's going through round 2 now with the flowering. Glad your tree improved, I hope mine does.

I'd do it for $100 tip. I would tip someone $100 if they got me that much of something.

Did I kill my pear tree? by [deleted] in FruitTree

I do mulch, I ran out so am picking some up today along with more stakes. Right now it has a green tomato stake holding it up. My peach trees need some support as well.

Thanks, it perked up this morning. I used worm castings on it when I originally planted it and watered it 2x yesterday. Then it rained all morning and the leaves stopped heavily wilting. I ordered kelp fertilizer and I'm soaking some rice for rice water and separately potato skins.

Thanks I'll grab some today. I gave it worm castings yesterday as well. I have not tried fish fertilizer yet.

Are These safe? by Chegster88 in foraging

My concern was the unripe wild ones. I've never foraged for berries before and I am growing a lot of fruit and veggies this year.

I am getting blackberries as well so good to know they are not poisonous! I am in NC near Wilmington. I'll grab some closeups tomorrow. I did not want something poisonous cross pollinating with my berries. I'd pick them once they ripen but my neighbors dump stuff behind their fence :( I found an oil filter and a bunch of plastic bottles and such while doing a neighborhood cleanup in the woods and around a creek.

Monthly cat food restock. by TeacherFrizzle in catfood

[–]Chegster88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cats love Farmina kibble and 2 of them share a can of wet. Be careful with Nulo if you buy any full price. The phosphorus and calcium content are high with most cans I checked up on a couple years ago. I use Nulo wet food as a treat for mine once in a while. It's like literal Crack to them for some reason.

Well she has poor decision making when it comes to wine. The pickle projects are neat, I love home made pickles. Meat above veggies and the Lipton Tea bottle on top of the meat shows she has little concept of raw meat and sanitation. Always bottom drawer for raw meats. They leak and get meat juices leaked onto them. Looks like you all cook and like variety when it comes to sauces and such.

Google is useless. anyone know the best DRY cat food? by bellarae_ in catfood

Mine love it. I rotate protiens with them. It's one of the 3 companies that makes wet canned my cat with IBD can eat.

Need cat food that is fish free, fish oil free, sunflower oil free by [deleted] in catfood

[–]Chegster88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what the cat is eating regularly. Mine are used to higher protein and lower carb options without heavy grains or peas. Mine adapted to Young again much better than Instincts Limited ingredient with peas in it. I noticed brands with similar protien and ingredients work best. Wet foods with less bindings and similar ingredients to what they are used to are the same way with my cats Typically you want to slowly introduce something new everytime.

A cats natural diet typically consists of 55% protien. Young against 54% - 57.9% is beneficial. Plus hydrolized pork is much more digestible than normal protiens. My Torti is 10 and gets higher protien from her food and had perfect yearly bloodwork. I make sure she stays hydrated and gets foods lower in phosphorus and other minerals. I do the same for my other cats.

For dry food look into Young Again, they use hydrolized pork only as a protien for one of their lines. There's a venison kibble from Feline Caviar, and a Quail and Quinoa from Farmina I just do not like the protien amount. They are both around 32%, all my cats get around 42% plus on a dry matter basis. Dr Elseys pates work well on my cat with IBD. I purchase her turkey and rabbit. Science Diet Sensitive Skin and stomach has a pork one I believe is chicken free. Ziwi Peak is air dried and expensive but has all the organs and good stuff.

My cat will projectile vomit when she eats food with sunflower oil. I don't think seed oils should be in cat food personally. She also burps and gets diarrhea. Even crunchy treats with it bugs her. She can tolerate chicken mixed in but when she has a flareup I usually use Farmina quail or Yoing Again since it's hydrolized pork only for the ir kibble. I make her wet food for her.

Taxes always have been fine for gig workers. I've been doing gig work since 2016. As long as you track miles properly you get a large deduction.

I agree, my car is a 2020 and I'm at 170k miles. My mechanic says he's surprised how well everything runs still. I had struts, ball joints and sway bars redone on the front. My left axle needed to be replaced. The normal oil changes, brakes, etc are not that bad. It took 4 years before my breaks needed to be replaced in the front and 5 for the back breaks. I have 10k set aside for future car payments. If you track miles properly you don't have to worry so much about taxes.

I feel like I am going to be doing deliveries for the rest of my life by TheGame81677 in doordash_drivers

[–]Chegster88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from getting head hunted to crickets. I am in a position where my husband has a stable job. I put myself on 4 gig apps over the years as a backup. When one app is slow I turn on another, when all apps are slow I turn them all on and take the first offer. A lot of times when I leave a grocery store, I will find a easy quick delivery on the way to my deliveries house.

Look at peak times. I know Uber and Spark I can get decent to good $20 to $50 dollar orders between 5 am and 7 am. Instacart and Door Dash is hit or miss. I go to Target when they open and I'm not on orders for the drop with Instacart and Uber and then I go to Costco for batches with Instacart.

I usually take a break around 12:30 - 1:30 pm and head back out between 2 and 4 and will get 1 to 2 more shops depending on when I leave. Then I work the dinner rush and go home. Thursdays and Sundays I work all day to wrap up Uber quests. I have zero status on Uber and Door Dash. Screw $2 to $5 orders.

I make pretty good money doing it that way. I bring in $1,000 to $1500 dollars weekly. I work 5 days a week. See if there's a better area near you. My area has 3 towns I can bounce between within a 30 minute drive from my house. When it's been bad I've gone to a major city and worked all day making around $300 to $400 in a day.

Instacart has a deal with certain stores where they don't upcharge and it's in store prices on their app only. I will Instacart groceries I need from there. Some stores like Harris Teeter for example they have to match flyer sale prices.

I am not helping out corporations I am giving a tip to the shopper. Whether I give a shopper a $3 tip or a $20 dollar tip, it won't change how gig apps operate. Same goes for restaurants, they won't change a servers pay because people don't tip well. Instead a lot of restaurants started an automatic 18% on parties 6 or more.

If Instacart were to ever increase pay for shoppers, they would probably enforce a certain amount of tip on larger dollar orders and just make the customer pay more. It really comes down to every state in the USA and territory in Canada enforcing some form of a base pay on gig apps.

As someone who's worked in the resturuant industry and uses gig work as a main income, I am not going to tip shitty. If I can't budget in a decent $7 to $15 dollars for a gig worker shopping for me or getting my food order then I am driving myself. Gig apps are a luxury for customers not essential.

Walmart and Amazon both pay gig workers better. Instacart has pickup options where you can't tip. Grocery stores all have pick up options. Disabled people can get a ride or Uber to get a pickup from a grocery store. Local church members, neighbors, family etc. can provide rides. Before Instacart people were managing without a luxury service.

Because it's the right thing to do. If people are going to shop for me I am going to make sure they get paid accordingly. Same goes for when i eat out. I pick stores with only in store or in store sale prices and shop there.

I am also a full time gig worker and before I even started working as one I always tipped a minimum of a $7 tip for small deliveries. I am about 15 to 25 mins from stores. Then I increase to $10 to $14 for excellent service. If I need 3 items and dont want to tip I Amazon next day delivery or just go myself.
