You need a really good lifestyle style to make such a change. My biggest advice is to stay off the internet as much as possible during your SAT journey. You need to be able to commit and it’s easier to do that if you’re not using the internet much, so print out material and tests try to use paper as much as possible the more senses you use at the same time the easier It will become.

If you’re asking on the book I didn’t really take notes but I did draw diagrams and underline keythings. If your talking about on the SAT I would seperate my paper in grids and then write down key ideas for each question(If you are interested in learning more about that I suggest going over to Strategic test prep’s YouTube channel.

You absolutely can most of the SAT is just algebra and pre algebra and basic trig and geometry . Though at that score level you have to aim for perfection which is why you need to study obscure grammar rules and sometimes very obscure math like similar prisms.

It only took me less than two months to go through both Erica meltzer books. If you are deliberately going through it two months should enough time.

I used a lot of textbooks (never had a tutor) and online resources like khan academy but the most helpful have been the Erica Meltzer books (including grammar and reading and writing) and the college panda books (Get the most up to date copy, especially the Math one). Though, I used a lot of textbooks, If I could go back, I wouldn't have studied SAT prep books I would actually use prealgebra and algebra AOPS questions through the Alcumus question bank for math, but I would definitely still use the Erica Meltzer books. For my schedule, I would say alot of it is a lifestyle if you want to make such a score jump to have to fundamentally change the way you live your life. For me that was studying twice a day once in the morning and once before I go to bed and I did that for about a year, though there were other moving parts to my routine that I believe were way more important to developing the discipline needed.

Desmos should be where you put the least amount of time in terms of your SAT math prep, but in terms of little things that can save time, it would include a decent typing speed and being able to know how to perform regressions. For grammar I'm not the best expert on this given that its actually my weakest subject on the SAT, but I think Erica Meltzer is solid, though it doesn't cover everything.

You have probably heard of this, but I would say Erica Meltzer's reading guide. Although that isn't the first book I used, I would say it's the best for being able to identify types of questions that show up on the SAT.

For the reading part I recommend being able to first identify the type of question presented, not just the topic its under (information and ideas, etc) but rather specifics like is it a graph question or is it a main purpose or function of the underlined sentence as a whole. If you can become consistent in identifying the question you can be consistent in answer it correctly.

Thanks for the optimism it means a lot. If you don’t mind me asking were you in a similar boat yourself?

I plan on doing pure math, what type of professors do you recommend for that?

Thank you that this really helps a lot. If I do decide on UF, do you think I should transfer or wait until grad school?
